Better than the first season soundtrack!,

This CD was really awesome. It had a better variety of songs than in the first season which was mediocre compared to this one! I love track number four.

I watch the L word every Sunday, can't miss it and neither can my friends, not because we're all lesbians, some of us are and some aren't but because the issues they deal with in the show are the same issues that we all deal with in real life. I would even throw men into that mix (see Shane, Bette). It's great that this years soundtrack came out early. We can now wonder what scenes the songs will be in. I love that it features more of a rockergrrl feel yet still has beautiful and heart-wrenching songs like No Other Love and Love Is Everything (I HAVE BEEN FANTASIZING ABOUT WHAT SCENES THESE SONGS WILL BE FEATURED IN) I bet (& hope) these two will be Bette and Tina songs. I also loved last seasons soundtrack and still play it in my car to and from work at least once a day! It's also a GREAT date CD, I think last years was a soundtrack for loving and this one is a soundtrack for _______ ..... well, I'll let you fill that last word in once you get the soundtrack!

Doesn't Deliver...sorry,
This review is from: The L Word: Season 2 (Audio CD)
sorry, but the theme song to this season's The L Word
was awful. It lacked any edge and sadly sounded as though it was recorded in a garage. For a dynamic show like this that is supposed to be breaking boundaries for Lesbians, this theme song was a bad choice. I'm sorry, but whenever i hear that song i cringe. The wording is good, but the vocals, production and song itself is just not anywhere near the stature that the show is. For a prime show like this, it needed a theme song that complimented it. This only brings the show down. The other songs on the CD though are good and as back up and extra songs are fine. It's upsetting though that the producers chose to have "1" artist create, choose and put together all the music for the season. I heard the same song played in 10000 different ways all throughout the show's season. Why not use other lesbian music from great young artist's? Why just the music from one? Isn't the point to raise awareness about lesbians whether that be as a lifestyle or artistic expression? Other Lesbian musicians should have been considered as a theme song. The producers should have looked at up and coming young musician's that are breaking the scene and making waves with the world like this show is. For instance, L.A.'s PEP (www.pepmusic.com), NY's Amy Fix (www.amyfix.com), Lisa Koch (heylisa.com). Lot's of great timeless music from up and coming lesbian musician's, yet none of this is used. Disappointing in that respect as we should be showcasing and promoting lesbian's rather than using one artist to create all the music for an entire season. Just my two cents.

Hot Hot Hot!,
By
This review is from: The L Word: Season 2 (Audio CD)
This CD is hot, like the tv-series and like all those beautiful actresses on the series. Do you need some help imagining Shane or one of the other girls standing next to you in your living room, then just put on this steamy CD. You should check out 'Brother' from the Organ. When I first heard it I thought 'That's Debbie - not on the L word - Harry'. Well, it's not Debbie, but definitely sounds like her. There are some classic romantics, like 'Just a little lovin' by Dusty Springfield. What a steamy voice! Or 'Where do I begin' by Shirley Bassey, with a nice beat. And you can dance as well with 'Playgirl' by Ladytron, 'Mmmnn' by Grandadbob or 'Get on' by Dirtmitts. That sure will get you in the mood for some L. The CD has one flaw, there are three songs by BETTY on this CD and that's one too many. The cost: less diversity. But even still, I think its a CD for a hot party. And remember, on that occasion, we should all be gay and feel sexy! So, why not buy this kinda 'L. inclined' party CD? It's got all the ingredients.

Not the first season soundtrack, but very good anyway.,

I really love most of the songs on the album. There are maybe four that I don't listen to. It's not as good as their first, but it has a good mix of girl bands. Love the Dirtmitts, Le Tigre, BETTY, Shawn Colvin, Heart, Dusty Springfield, Iron and Wine, The Organ, and Ladytron isn't half bad either. I can always count on the L Word to introduce me to some amazing music. I am a 16 year old lesbian and have just been learning about the music of our culture for the past 3 years. I want more as other reviewers have said. They needed a two cd set for both cds to cover all of the wonderful music. And I wish Kinnie Starr would have sang on the show and been featured on the album again. I can't wait to see what music is in store for season 3, but I know I will most likely be adding that soundtrack to my collection too.

Not only do I love the show, the Soundtrack is amazing too!
I knew quite a few of the songs anyway but this CD is well worth getting for both them plus the lesser know songs. Is a good CD to sing along with/feel upbeat with - a real girly CD :)

L-Word Soundtrack, so so so good!,
By
This review is from: The L Word: Season 2 (Audio CD)
I am sitting here listening to the L-Word Season 2 soundtrack, and I'm really loving it. This is the version that doesn't have the EZ Girl stuff on it, which I've heard a lot of people don't particularly care for.
The whole CD is mellow, with the highpoints being Betty's "It Girl." It is perfect for a long ride, because it is that music that makes good background noise and will make you sink into your own thoughts. I love this CD especially because it is mostly women's music, peformed by women and written by women. I recommend this for any indie-chick music fan!!

I heard the samples and didn't liked it,but i bought it anyway, and i love it! it's not as good as the first soundtrack but it's very good though exept for the theme song (i admit it's not good at all!...) but the rest is fine! specially the simple but gorgeous song by HEART.So shame on you who made those awfall reviews about this quite very good soundtrack filled with songs actually heard on the show.Remember the sex and the city soundtracks? THAT was really bad, exept for a couple of songs...
