5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging with great graphics and storyline July 2, 2012
    Platform for Display:PC Download - Steam DRM|Edition:Complete
Be a cop in Hollywood in the post-war era: circa 1947. Patrol, Traffic, Arson and Homicide, as you move through the ranks solving cases. You search for clues at crime scenes, interacting with other cops and interviewing suspects and witnesses. You never know who you can trust (cops, witnesses or supposed victims of the crimes...), but over time you gain experience and wisdom.

Figuring out whether or not you're being lied to gets tougher as you move through the game. You start out as a Rookie and work your way up to Detective, but it's not easy. There are plot twists and brutal crimes to solve and interrogations can do you in, but it's the sort of fun you just can't get enough of once you start.

This is a great game that should appeal to a lot of players. Engaging game play that's also visually appealing. Accurate neighborhood recreations, and the facial renderings are particularly good. Time spent on refining this game is evident.

Not being a 'gamer' I found the basic mechanics of just driving a car in this game a bit daunting! Do a search online and you'll find 'tips and tricks' for it. The learning curve for me was steep, but it certainly won't be if you play PC role playing games on a regular basis.

The download of the game via Steam over high speed Internet (18.5 Mbps download speed) went easily, as did installation. The whole thing from start to finish took me about 3 hours to complete.

Overall, it's a lot of fun to be on the streets of LA, but watch your back!

5.0 out of 5 stars great game January 26, 2013
    Platform for Display:PC Download - Steam DRM|Edition:Complete
It's a real unique experience, the graphics is good, the facial emotions are amazing and the gameplay cannot be compared to anything I've seen before. I recommend to anyone looking for a new type of investigation game, although if you expect a GTA or Mafia clone, you will be disappointed, because it isn't about action, it's an interactive noire which takes the genre to its best.

    5.0 out of 5 stars a rare game February 19, 2014
    Platform for Display:PC Download - Steam DRM| Edition:Complete|Verified Purchase
being a detective and helping to solve cases is an extraordinarily engaging and exciting experience.
one of my most enjoyed games.

ps. the code is for NA (so you`ll need to change the ip to be able to add the game to steam).

    5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Go Wrong W/ Rockstar October 21, 2013

Another satisfying experience done by Rockstar. It's got shoot outs, mystery, and satisfying chase segments. This game features many actors from TV and it's fun to see them as characters in different cases. Wouldn't pass up this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Low FPS on decent rig. May 29, 2014
    Platform for Display:PC Download - Steam DRM| Edition:Complete|Verified Purchase
I have a fairly decent rig because I use it for PC gaming, 3d modeling, and digital drawing and painting. In spite of having a machine that is above the recommended hardware requirements, tweaking the command line, dropping the screen resolution and graphics levels I still manage to suffer from extremely low FPS.

This game has some decent story, and what I imagine would be some interesting game play that is being held back by some issue that I can only find limited information on.

I spent a couple of hours this morning loading software, but still haven't seen the game.

I would liken this experience to going to a brothel and having to negotiate through a half dozen pimps before you can see the person you came to see.

So far I've had to download, install, and, in many cases, register and login to::

    1. Amazon Game downloader
    2. STEAM game engine
    3. Microsoft NET
    4. DirectX update
    5. Rockstar Social Club
    6. LA Noire software (actually, I'm not sure any part of the game has downloaded in this two hours)

Ridiculous. It's like every marketing entity on the internet needs your email address just to play this freakin' game.

I hope it's worth it...if I ever get time to finish starting it up.

04Nov2013 - Finally got it to run. Now whenever I go back after a while to play it some more it goes through 15 minutes to 1+ hours of "synchronize". Whatever the hell that is. Downloaded Mafia II from STEAM and it worked like a charm...better graphics, same immersive play as Rockstar....Rockstar used to be the best, but there games are now so mired in links to Social Club and copy and protection and auto updates that they are virtually unplayable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun except for the interrogation guessing games January 3, 2014
    Platform for Display:PC Download - Steam DRM|Edition:Complete
Everything in this game is, for the most part, likeable. Typical Rockstar Games-type city to drive around in, etc., with the ability to drive any vehicle you want. You play as Cole Phelps, a war veteran who works his way up from uniformed officer to traffic detective to homicide detective, etc. The more successful you are as Phelps, the more "ranking" points you get.

Two things I don't like: 1) fist fights using the XBOX controller for PC (it's difficult to figure out how to get the controls working and 2) the interrogations. The latter dislike takes a good star or two off the game. You ask a suspect something, then you have to determine whether he or she is lying (lie), hiding something (doubt) or being honest with you (truth). It all seemed to work out until the Golden Butterfly homicide case. Played it twice, got better info the second time, but got more interrogation questions wrong. After that case, I deleted the game from my PC and went back to playing Torchlight II and Toy Soldiers, i.e. games that are more fun than frustrating.

Nice try, Rockstar, but not nice enough.
