5.0 out of 5 stars Less Expensive Alternative to Other Systems
I installed the Channel Plus 3025 All-in-One Multiroom Video Distribution System with Dual Input Modulator in my house four years ago, and although expensive to purchase all the components necessary to take advantage of all it offers, and difficult to install, I have been very happy with it. However, I recently wanted to use a similar system with another cable box, and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sound Quality is terrible
I have bought three of these modulators and only one of these actually produces stereo sound. The other two have sound distortion and produces only mono. I bought the first two several months ago with one of them hooked up to the Xbox 360 and the other to my computer. The one hooked up to the XBox 360 worked great. The one hooked up to the computer did not sound that...

I installed the Channel Plus 3025 All-in-One Multiroom Video Distribution System with Dual Input Modulator in my house four years ago, and although expensive to purchase all the components necessary to take advantage of all it offers, and difficult to install, I have been very happy with it. However, I recently wanted to use a similar system with another cable box, and the CE Labs Modulator proved to be an easier-to-install and less expensive alternative, plus it has some advantages over the Channel Plus system: This modulator transmits MTS stereo sound, whereas the Channel Plus modulator required purchasing addition components. In addition The CE Labs modulator will likely require running fewer coaxial cables since the "combiner" is not built into the modulator, and therefore has more location flexibility . If you wish to combine the output from this modulator with other analog channels, this CHANNEL PLUS 2532 2-Way Splitter/Combiner (CHANNEL PLUS 2532) will do that equally well; but just like the Channel Plus system, you will usually need to use a filter, like this Channel Plus NF-469 Low-Pass Filter for Channels 64 to 70 or this Notch Filter, Blocks CATV 70-74, depending on the channel number that you wish to assign to the modulator.

The biggest disadvantage of the CE Labs modulator is that it does not include a built-in remote control extender system. However, I have found that the Next Generation Remote Control Extender is an excellent alternative. Although this modulator only generates one channel, one channel was all I need. Consequently, I am also very pleased with the CE Labs Modulator...the quality of both the sound and picture are excellent.

Installed the Modulator yesterday and so far am very happy. We were using a higher end VCR to distribute our video around the house. The CD Labs 1001ST, having stereo sound that seems to have greater sound range and the picture is better as well.

About the only con could be somewhat limited documentation to explain channel 69 air coming in as 125 on the TV.

I used this Modulator to send a Dish Satellite Receiver output to multiple televisions through my house. It is extremely easy to install and select a TV channel to be used for it's output. The reception on all the TV sets is not degraded.

I am using this to distribute the output from my media server throughout my house. I have the modulator set to channel 25 and the signal is viewable on all my televisions and is also in stereo. I have owned this for a couple of years now and it has never given me any trouble. I would highly recommend this modulator.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm!, April 6, 2010
This review is from: CE LABS 1001ST Stereo Agile RF Modulator (Electronics)
I have used this device for 5 years to take my satellite output and remodulate that to channel 80. I installed a channel 80 notch filter on my cable feed and then used a splitter/combiner to feed the two signals together. I can tune any TV in the house to channel 80 and then watch satellite programming using the receiver's RF remote.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and Reliable, February 9, 2009
This review is from: CE LABS 1001ST Stereo Agile RF Modulator (Electronics)
This is my second unit. Good product at a good price. They are extremely easy to setup, maybe 5 minutes. Once done they need no further attention. By using a splitter I have been able to add an unused selectable channel to our antennae feed. Now all the TVs in the house can see whatever is connected to modulator.
NOTE: This is not high definition. It only converts composite video and composite stereo audio to an RF (Standard Cable) signal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sound Quality is terrible, December 24, 2008

I have bought three of these modulators and only one of these actually produces stereo sound. The other two have sound distortion and produces only mono. I bought the first two several months ago with one of them hooked up to the Xbox 360 and the other to my computer. The one hooked up to the XBox 360 worked great. The one hooked up to the computer did not sound that good but I attributed that to the computer and did not investigate any further. But when I bought the third one about a month ago and hooked it up to the stero VCR the sound was quite distorted. At this point I started swapping that one with my XBox 360 one and the sound was fine. I requested a return and Amazon, quickly sent me another unit within a week at no cost to me. I tried that one, and the sound was just as distorted as the other one. I believe there is some sort of quality problem with these units. The video is fine on all these units, it is just the audio. I bought these specifically to produce stereo sound. Otherwise I could have gone the Radio Shack and bought a cheap mono modulator.

I bought a more expensive product and it didn't have the channel range I needed. Wanted an inexpensive replacement and this fit the bill. And how! Works like a charm!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellet!, September 11, 2008
I use this to redistribute my TiVo output to all the TV's in the house. From any TV you tune to channel 91 and you see one TiVo, Channel 95 for the other. This allows me to leave the TiVo's in the living room and watch them from any bedroom. (I use IR senders to send remote control signals back to the TiVo.)

This modulator is inexpensive and works great!
