4.0 out of 5 stars Very informative, very wordy, August 1, 2000

This review is from: LAN Technologies Explained (Paperback)
Bought this book for reference for some software i was writing. The book is very thorough and covers anything and everything you need to know about LAN technologies. Starts out very general and explains the history of networking and the standards that support it. Goes in depth with LAN technology and then continues to give an overview of upper level protocols and even cabling.

I suppose my only critique is that the book tends to be a little verbose as the authors frequently use convoluted sentence structures which slow down the reading.

Overall a very useful book.
