From Baldwin Hills to Mars, from Santa Monica Boulevard to Haiti, no crime is too convoluted, no time too early for a chili dog. The LAPD is on the case, day or night, rain or smog. Sit back, put your hands up, and prepare to be read your rights!
I've had a varied if not particularly overwhelming writing career ever since I was writer and then editor for my high school newspaper. I published my first fanzine ('Comic Fantasy Quarterly') about the same time, when I was seventeen, then went on to help found 'The Nostalgia Journal,' another fan publication which I was editor of and which ran for 26 issues. It is still being published today, in very different form, as 'The Comics Journal.'
During this period, I had articles published in a number of other fan publications, tried my hand at novel writing during the 80's with no success; it wasn't until the end of that decade that I published another film fan publication, 'Movies Then and Now,' which lasted four issues. In the early 90's, I wrote for the Dallas Observer and was made a Contributing Editor. Most recently, I have written four books of movie criticism/history, all of which are available on Amazon, in addition to two collections of short stories, and a science-fiction novel, 'Mars Landing.' I also have been a regular contributing writer since early 2009 for the Slaughter Creek Reporter here in Austin, doing everything from feature stories to restaurant reviews to business profiles, in addition to a regular movie column, newly titled 'Box Office Rap.' My next book was 'The Best of Hollywood Memories,' the column's previous name and it contains the first year's worth of columns. In 2011, I published 'Memoirs of an Anecdotal Autobiographer,' a small volume of remembrances and stories from my early life. All my books are for sale on Amazon.
