Bought this as a replacement for our Acer Aspire 3000. Works great. Fits as well as the original. The price was outstanding. Highly recommend.

I tried an adapter that claimed to be for the 5100 from Ebay, and it didn't work. Then I found this one and it has the correct plug that is an exact match to the original adapter that came with the 5100.

If you're looking for an adapter for the Acer Aspire 5100, this is the one!!

If you have one of the laptops listed above, this is the adapter you want. It specs right out to the Lite-On original, including not least of all the plug. You don't want to have to fiddle around with the plug--just read the reviews for this one:

This isn't the sort of item you want in your shopping cart. No. This is the sort of item you get when you need one. You want it to work and to be trouble free. This works and you don't have to fiddle with the plug. And it costs less too. What's not to like?

UPDATE: Damn thing finally died today. Got over two and a half years service from it--a year's more use than what I got from the original BTW. I think I got my money's worth. To clarify one point in the earlier review: this item is as pictured, it's not a universal shown to look like a dedicated adapter.

After using the item about a week
The unit start work irradically,,have to shake it before it works,,
then sudden ly quick work all together.

I was looking for an adapter with the 2 pole ac plug, not bulky and easily interchanged with a 2 pole european power cord. The idea was to have an alternative to the clumsy acer wall wart.

What I got was a 3 pole power plug and a fat three pole power cord, makes the whole thing nearly twice as bulky as what's pictured. Won't store in my netbook pouch with its cord.

It is not the original one, I hope it stays working for long time. I guess the original is about 70$, so expensive in comparison with cheap price of this.

THis was a life saver, because I wasn't even sure if I could buy power cords on their own after my cat chewed mine apart. The pictures were really helpful so that i could compare it with what I had. Shipping was 2 days on the dot, and it was in great condition! Thanks!

I purchased this adapter from Hisgadget Inc. for use with an Acer Aspire One Model 531h-1927. This adapter fits, and has more power than the original unit (it's designed for beefier Acer models). The specs listed in the description match the actual item: output current, voltage, and plug size are all as described. Of course I wasn't really worried about that: Hisgadget is a Fulfillment by Amazon seller.

The quality of construction is good. The AC line cord is thin but adequate. The plugs are well molded. The output cord is thick. The power supply does include a velcro tie strap, which is nice. There is a dim but visible green AC power confirmation light, too.

This particular model is not Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Listed or Underwriters Recognized. It does have a CE and CSA mark, however. That's why I'm rating this item with three stars.

UL is an independent test laboratory and in the USA is *the* standard for electrical safety. Not having the certification does not mean this product is not safe, but it does mean this adapter has not gone through the same testing as an Acer or Lite-On brand adapter.

I accidentally left my original adapter behind while travelling. I will eventually get it back, but wanted a spare in case I forget at some time in the future. This adapter was an extremely inexpensive, hassle free, guaranteed compatible (thanks Fulfillment by Amazon) replacement. Now I'm back to work!

Just like others said, this fits the Acer Aspire 5100 extremely well.

Pros:
1. The power cord fits into the converter tightly and actually "snaps" in.
2. The round DC power plug for the laptop fits very well too.
3. The charger ran all weekend without any power issues.
4. Heat buildup actually seems to be less than in OEM chargers.
5. The charger is very light.

Cons:
1. Since the charger is very light it feels a little cheap.
2. It did seem to interfere with the FM radio more than other chargers. Running it through a good power strip fixed the problem.

Overall, I'm very happy with it.
