FYI, I'm a firefighter and I just had an emergency call this evening for carbon monoxide. It turns out that it was caused by someone using one of these liners on the bottom of the gas oven. It was blocking the holes on the bottom which was causing improper burning of the gas and releasing large quantities of carbon monoxide. Obviously, this is not an issue for electric ovens. You should be able to use this on the bottom rack of a gas oven. Alternately, you can trim the liner so that it doesn't cover the holes on the bottom. Just make sure the holes are clear and it shouldn't cause any problems.

Just want to throw a plug out there for carbon monoxide detectors. This family had one. If they wouldn't have had a carbon monoxide detector, they may have gotten very sick, possibly to the point of it being fatal. But, since they did have one, they had a slight annoyance for about an hour while we discovered the problem and ventilated their house until it was safe. There are some for less than $20 here on Amazon.

After spending several hours cleaning our oven of nearly a year's worth of grease, I decided to invest in an oven liner to reduce the need to do so again. I was looking for a liner that could withstand up to or over 500 degrees, one that wasn't too expensive, and something that I could remove, clean, and reuse. This arrived on time, but the material seemed a lot more flimsy than as I was expecting, almost like camera film, or cellophane. The photo looks as though it is textured, striated, and has a thickness of maybe a millimeter or more, but this was not the case. The product description said it could withstand up to 500 degrees. My husband tested it through an initial run of 400 degrees and the product completely failed. It burned an oval sized hole up to 12" in diameter, the baking sheet melted right onto the bottom of our oven. You could smell the fumes throughout our entire downstairs kitchen, living, and family room areas; we needed to open several doors to ventilate (in the middle of winter). The entire oven was blanketed by a layer of a grayish white film; it was in all of the nooks, crannies, and in between the bars on the oven racks. The film seemed powder-like and could be wiped off by the smudge of our finger but who knows what chemicals comprised of this powder. Despite handwashing all 3 oven racks, twice, with dish liquid and water, and despite giving the oven several wipe downs, the gray-white "burn hole" stain remains, and the chemical smell returns when we try to use the oven. We have had to throw out 2 home made pizzas for having a distinct chemical taste. I am extremely disappointed with this product and would like to warn any future buyers not to buy this product. It is a waste of money and a health hazard. We will probably need to use the self-clean feature on our oven to 900 degrees to ensure that all chemicals are finally burned away.

This is wonderful for my application, I am using it for machine quilting as an alternative to the more expensive machine quilting Teflon mats! The size is much greater therefore providing a larger area of movement for my quilts.

I bought this Teflon oven liner to tape to my sewing machine table to help my quilt move when I did free motion quilting. It worked great and was a fraction of the price of the Supreme Slider. I used painter's tape to tape it down and removed it when finished. No residue was left and the painter's tape kept it in place. It was much easier and went faster to quilt my quilt. I don't remember where I saw the suggestion but I am very happy I tried it,

I use it as a craft mat. Nothing sticks to it and cleans up easily. It was less expensive than craft mats.

This oven liner works exactly as it should. Trims to fit with scissors. Cleans easily.
Much more user friendly than foil on the bottom of the oven, or chemical oven cleaners.

I have a self cleaning oven. But with the way I cook (what I cook) the only place that needs cleaning is the bottom.

With this I just wipe it down.

I used to use aluminum foil at the bottom of the oven. But with this Teflon mat I am not using up my aluminum foil roll, - I don't have to deal with not having a long enough piece of foil left on the roll. - And I am not adding foil to the landfill or recycle.

And I don't need to run the expensive self-cleaning oven.
