The fan itself is a real winner!

I needed a good fan that would push air around a room that tends to get pretty hot and stuffy, especially in the summer. Our AC ducts need a lot of work, so I purchased this fan until we can afford to get it done. I think we found a good solution for the time being.

First, we have about 3 different types of fans in our house; Power House 18-Inch 2,900 CFM 3-Speed High Velocity Stand Fan, Power House 92000 20" HIGH VELOCITY STAND FAN, and the Lasko 20 inch box fan. The Powerhouse fans both do a pretty good job of moving air around. But I still needed something better, particularly in this AZ heat. The Lasko box fans are good if you want a gentle breeze. However, if your room is hot, you're wasting time, energy and money running it. A homemade paper fan would probably yield the same type of result.

I decided to give the LASKO 30 In. Oscillating Industrial Fan a try. Let me tell you, this blows the other ones away. Good solid construction, easy to operate, nice design.

There are a couple of drawbacks. First, it is pretty loud. And this is coming from someone that does not really mind loud fans. You have a hard time hearing over it.

Also, the footprint on this is pretty big. This is not a portable fan nor is it meant to be moved around. Wherever you place this is pretty much where it will end up staying.
The base itself is very large, so it will take up a considerable large amount of space.

The assembly on this was a nightmare. I received mine with missing screws. When I opened the box, some were loose, at the bottom of the box. I found a couple of nuts and washers in the creases of the box. After turning the box over and carefully inspecting the seams and folds, I was still missing an important screw and washer.

Upon purchasing replacement parts at my local hardware store, fan seems okay, hard to say the true quality of this product secondary to do having the exact hardware parts that should have came with it. Only been functioning for a day now; not too bad noise wise; good blade speed too. Box came destroyed; I would not even say in one piece; many aspects held on only by packing tape; missing hardware; scratched damaged pieces; poor packing of parts; part of the fan motor was actually hanging out of the package when the UPS guy handed it to me. Awful experience with this. I could not return this item secondary to the fact the box was so badly damaged there would be no way I could re-package it. Currently working with Lasko directly to get missing parts mailed to me to get fan in working shape. A complete and utter disappointment with Amazon on this one. I would suggest find this item with someone else that can service the parts you will not receive.

This is a fantastic fan, very heavy duty and very reasonably priced. It would be a little difficult for one person to assemble, but 2 people can put the fan together without any problem. The only complaint I have is the box the fan was shipped in. The sides of the box fold over, and there are tabs along the edges that fit into slots cut into the box bottom. One of the small parts bags inside my box had split open during shipment, scattering nuts, bolts and washers. Some of those small parts fell out during shipment through the slits in the bottom of the box. I had to make a trip to the hardware store before I could assemble the fan. Once I got it put together, though, I was really impressed. This fan will really move a lot of air around. It's an industrial fan, though, so it's better suited for a garage or workshop. It's way too noisy for a bedroom fan. It would be like trying to sleep with a small plane taking off all night.

I bought this fan for my garage. I live in Texas and do a lot of woodwork in the garage during the summer. This fan makes a huge difference. It moves a lot of air and really makes things a lot more comfortable. Not surprisingly, it does make some noise. If you plan on using it indoors, make sure that is not an issue.

The fan works great, but it needed some tweaking. The fan was very unbalanced at first. I replaced the square head set screw that holds the blade to the motor with a recessed socket head screw that sat flush with the hub. I then had to bend the blades a little bit to get them all to ride in the same plane. The guard on the outside was very dificult to install until I clocked it so that the radial bars were in between the ones on the back guard. After that the fan cage had plenty of flex to allow the front cover to go on. Other than those problems it's a good fan.

The fan arrived right on time. The instructions were easy to follow but after assembling the fan the main shaft would not telescope. We tried using pipe wrenches to get the the shaft to slide but nothing worked. We kept the fan because it would have been more of a hassle to box it up and send it back. It works fine, just does not raise and lower. Also the fan motor shakes a lot on high. The fan oscillates and puts out a great deal of air.

Packaging for this heavy fan was inadequate and some of the hardware came from my own stock. The fan itself is a real winner! From some of the reviews, I was a little concerned about the noise but with the amount of air it pushes, it is quiet. I'll probably be purchasing another one soon.
