I didn't know there was life before Cali! I discovered this album in 2003 and have listened to it at least 100 times since then. This is one of those CDs where you know exactly how the artist felt when they wrote and recorded the track. You feel like you know Cali after you listen to this CD. In the grand tradition of Morrissey and Robert Smith, Cali sings what it's like to be hurt, abused, and unappreciated by the ones you love. If I had to be stuck on a desert island with just one CD this would be the one. I wouldn't be alone. I would have Cali with me! Take a chance on this CD! You'll be so glad you did!

It's a very intersting material, the compouser is a very sensitive one, and he can express life in a very wonderful way

'elle m'a dit'is rightly the best known track, along with 'quand le bonheur', but the whole CD is well worth listening to. Youthful anguish for grown ups made even more poignant if French isn't your first language.

My french is bad enough i can't even translate it all when i see it written out. But the songs and the music are still incredible! very eclectic and original.
