It's a book about three girls conquering boys, highschool, and one of the school's bullys. Fleur,Ronnie,Claude make wonderful plans for a school concert and the book is about all the laughs(and ok some crys) about it. I don't want to give to much away, because if I do then you might not read it, but you should cause it's awesome as I have said before.

LBD it's a girl thing is a funny and witty book about the life of three teenage girls: Fleur, Claudia, and Ronnie. In the story the girls desperately want to go to the Astlebury music festival, but their parents won't let them. Claudia comes up with the idea to have their own music festival at their school. The girls face a few problems along the way like: Ronnie's parents' separation and Panama and her band, the girls' enemies are the headline act in the festival. After a few bumps everything works out and the festival is a great sucess. Ronnie gets the boy she has a major crush on and her parents get back together. She also has a new sibling on the way. As an added surprise, Superstar Mike Saunders comes to the festival and sings a few songs for the perfect ending. I think that the book was a tad bit boring and the plot was weak. I also thought that it was very humorous and realistic when it comes to how teenage girls act these days.

Ronnie, Fleur, and Claude are Les Bambinos Dangeureuses (LBD). In LBD: It's a Girl Thing the three friends are dying to go to Astlebury Music Fest, a whole weekend of music, dancing, and snogging. When their fun-hating parents refuse to let them go, they decide to have their own music festival at school. The festival is harder to pull off than they first expect, especially with Year 11 bully Panama Goodyear trying to steal the limelight and Ronnie's crush, Jimi. But with guts, determination, and some surprise help, the LBD are convinced to make Blackwell Live run smoothly, while snagging the spotlight and the boys. The girls' quirky friendship and crazy adventures will have you laughing and believing in the power of the LBD.

5.0 out of 5 stars LBD its a great book!, September 28, 2005

What would you do if you were a teenage girl who just wanted to have fun with your best buds, but your parents totally ruin everything? Claude Cassiera, Fleur Swan, and Ronnie Ripperton new exactly what to do. Since there parents were being totally unfair by not letting them go to the Astlebury Music Festival, they decided to stage a festival of their own. Blackwell Live would be the next best thing to Astlebury. If only life was that easy. Organizing a music festival would be tough work. First they would have to convince there Principal Mr. McGraw to let them have the festival, then getting bands together, funding money for stage equipment, and then trying to get the whole student body to participate. This was not going to be an easy task for the LBD, but with the help of some others, will the LBD pull this thing off?
This book is about three troublesome teenagers trying to fight their way to life. Adventurous, hysterical, and exciting I would have to recommend this book to teenage girl readers who are ready and up for anything.
The LBD consisting of three best friends, are going through their teenage years of life. There boyfriend tragedies, friendship troubles, family breakdowns, and bombing school work is just the thing that I can relate to. This is why I love LBD it's a girl thing so much, I can relate to almost everything these three best friends go through.

5.0 out of 5 stars LBD: it's a GREAT thing!, April 5, 2005
Ronnie, Claude, and Fleur are the LBD- les bambinos dangeruses- and their proud of it! These 3 babes attend Blackwell School, where they are regularly tormented by McGraw, the principle, and Panama Goodyear and her band of evil goons. It's also the place to see hotties like Jimi Steele everyday. Despite being a typically grim school, Blackwell has a few redeeming qualities- like the annual Garden Party and Disco. However, McGraw has just announced that it's cancelled! Couple that with the LBD's totally strict parents vetoing their bid to go to Astlebury, the hottest music festival around, and what do you get? The most boring summer ever! The LBD is determined to have some fun...so they plot, scheme, and dream: and come up with Blackwell Live! The LBD is going to organize and chair the first ever local music festival, starring non other than Blackwell's own talents. Of couse, it can't all be fun: the problems come pouring down. Over 200 people come to audition for only 6 slots....many of them horrendous, but quite a few good ones. Then there's evil Panama, insisting that her vile singing group Catwalk be the headlining act..or else. On top of all this, Ronnie's parents are fighting, and Panama is all over her crush Jimi! Will the LBD be able to overcome stingy rental companies, reluctant sponsor, outrageous acts, horrible bullies, and loads of other trauma to make Blackwell Live a complete success?

3.0 out of 5 stars Teenage Times, November 10, 2003

This review is from: LBD: It's a Girl Thing (Hardcover)
The novel LBD it's a girl thing, by Grace Dent, is a funny story about three teenage girls: Fleur, Claudia and Ronnie. They desperately want to go to the hottest music festival around; Astlebury. The hottest stars will be performing. The girls' favorite singer Spike Saunders will also perform. The girls are crushed because their parents will not let them go. After hours of sulking and complaining the girls are hopelessly sad. Finally Claudia comes up with a brilliant idea to have their own music festival at school. They call it the Blackwell festival. The girls must choose their enemies from the band Catwalk to be their headline act. During this stressful period of planning and such the girls encounter a few problems. For one, Ronnie's parents are in the process of a separation and her longtime crush is going out with her enemy Panama. Although the girls encounter many problems, in the end everything turns out great. The festival is a success and all the bands are great. As the last band Catwalk (Panama's band) goes on to perform, their tape is jammed and people realize that they are lip-syncing. The audience laughs them off stage and everyone starts to go crazy. To settle them down a surprise guest comes. Yep, you guessed it, Spike Saunders! He sings a few songs and all goes well. Ronnie's parents get back together with some very important news; they are having a baby. Ronnie's longtime crush Jimi Steele breaks up with Panama and asks Ronnie out. The festival was a huge success. I thought that the book was ok; the plot was a little weak but I loved the characters. I really could relate to them because they are very realistic and act how teenagers do these days.

LBD: It's A Girl Thing
Book Review

Grace Dent's LBD: It's a Girl Thing is a great fictional book for teen girls. The LBD ( Los Bambinos Dangereses) aren't allowed to go to a posh music festival. They decide to put on their own music festival at school. They must make Blackwell Live! a success and even though they have to override some obstacles they don't worry because after all the LBD are in charge! I liked a lot of things about this book, but the think I liked most was how they reached for a big goal and try their hardest to succeed in fulfilling their goal. Something I didn't like though about this book was ,Panama Goodyear a snotty 11 year, telling the LBD that they needed her, for the concert to be any good. I thought that was a bad example towards younger girls.
My favorite character was Claude Cassiera because she sounds kind of like me, she is outgoing and a go getter-a leader. On page 138 to 139 where Claude gives the other two girls the definition of what their title meant. I thought that was inspirational and inspiring for the reader and the characters. I would tell someone else that this book is a good teen girl book and that it keeps you wanting to read. It is a good book like the Mates, Dates,... series. After reading this book I wonder how did the three girls meet originally and why they became friends, after all they are so different. I recommend this book because I love British authors and how they write.

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU LIKE ANGUS, THONGS..., March 10, 2004

This review is from: LBD: It's a Girl Thing (Hardcover)
I loved this book. I had read Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging and loved it. After I finished all of them I wanted to read more books that were like it. I was lost in a sea of crappy books and then I found this. The characters are hilarious and just like the kind of friends that you would want. This is such a great book if you like Angus, Sloppy Firsts, and Sisterhood.

I highly recommend it!
