I ended up getting the two pack, HP56 & HP57. For $19.99 it's worth at least trying. I've used LD Ink before and it's been pretty good but this order wasn't so great. The color ink cartridge worked just like a regular HP one; however, the black ink only printed every other line of text. I reinstalled, cleaned the print heads, and realigned twice and it still only printed one good solid line of text followed by a very faint line of text. I just sent in a refund request (Amazon wouldn't allow me to send in a replacement request) and I'm going to place another order only because I've had good experiences with previous LD ink purchases. I'm hoping it was just one dud shipment. I'll update my review if the second shipment was a dud as well.

UPDATE: The second shipment arrived and the ink is working wonderfully.

The black replacement (for HP 56) did not work when I received it. My printer said that it was an unrecognizable cartridge. The color one, however, did work. With the price of the color one by itself if I were to get an HP, I guess I still came out ahead, but I was disappointed that the black one didn't work. I bought another LD black cartridge for a different printer and it worked fine. Not sure what happend with this one.

I received these ink cartridges which are sold exclusively by LD Products through Amazon. The packaging of each cartridge is very detailed and contains the printer models compatible with each cartridge. They also list 100% satisfaction guarantee on the back of the box, which I am! Once I opened the box of cartridges, each cartridge was nicely sealed in a plastic bag and contained a protective clip on the printhead of the cartridge. I installed the cartridge into my printer and without hesitation they worked as good or even better than the OEM ink cartridges. The print was deep in color and worked right out of the box. I will be a LD Products customer for life and like the way they assure you about the quality you will receive at such a great price. Thank you LD Products!

These are old, used cartridges. Eventually the contacts oxidize and lose conductivity. If you get an error message like "Check Print Cartridge" or "Cartridge Installed Incorrectly" try the following it worked for me. Take a pencil eraser and gently but firmly erase over the contacts. You should be able to remove the oxidized layer as it's usually relatively thin. Reinstall the cartridge. It should now work. Good luck!

After seeing so many reviews on this particular brand/item, I thought I'd go ahead and give it a shot. I had for years avoided off-brand ink-jets, and only used HP. But I figured, I won't know unless I try. Well, with this one, I found a real winner. Thanks for making such a perfect replacement for the HP inks at a yet lower cost. This ink has performed AT LEAST as well as the HP inks I had used in same printer for around 8 years, I guess it's been. I've now been using this ink for maybe 6 months - I forget exact date purchased. Not ONE complaint.

UPDATE May 14, 2012

Ink just now seems to have run out. No complaints. It lasted from somewhere between August and October of 2011, and just now running out of ink in May. That's after printing loads of coupons, as well as some spreadsheets, and a few other various documents. Online to order a couple more today.

My printer wasn't working and I wasn't sure if the ink was old but I didn't want to spend $30 plus dollars on a new cartridge to find out. I bought these and the printer works great. The quality is as good as the HP brand cartridge quality.

Not sure when I bought these, but its been awhile. I dont do a ton of printing so I thought it would be better to delay my review until I knew for sure whether or not these cartridges lasted a reasonable amount of time. Well, they seem to be doing ok. Sometimes I think the text is a little lighter than it should be but perhaps I just need to adjust that in my printer settings. I bought cartridges from this company because they have a much higher feedback rating than their "cheaper" competition. Seems like I made a good choice(and thanks to all those who take time to leave reviews). Reviews for the cheaper guys are filled with horror stories. No horror story here-just the way I like it!

i have been using refurbished / re-manufactured cartridges for at least 10 years, I have experimented with many different brand names -providers of cartridges. It is often hit and miss if the purchased cartridges work? I am looking for the best purchase price, but I often spend far to much time trouble shooting why a cartridge works or not, sometimes i just throw them away. But in regard to LD products they always work, now and in the future if they sit on the shelf for a while. I refill them too and get lots of value out of them. They hold up in use, they always work and are recognized by the respective printer without problem. They are the closet to New cartridges that I can buy. I have stopped buying other cartridge brands. They are the highest price of the refurbished / re-manufactured cartridges but without exception they always work and can also be refilled multiple times without problems. Ultimately they are the better value and quality product.

I have bought quite a few of these now. Only had trouble with one and they replaced it immediately. Great product for the price.

They didn't work in my printer. I ended up with ink leaking onto my fingers and carpet. What a complete rip off.
