I have had this dishwasher since October of 2010. I was a little leary based on other reviews I have seen on this model.
The reviews I've seen are either very good, or VERY bad. I went ahead and gave it shot. It does a great job of cleaning my dishes and is also VERY quiet. I don't have to prewash my dishes like I did with my old Whirlpool which is a plus. You'll want to make sure to use a rinse aid EVERY wash, because it will affect the drying. You also do not want to open the dishwasher at all during the drying process, it will throw it off. Glad I got one of the better ones and not a lemon like I've heard

Purchased the LG LDS4821WW from Home Depot on 5/24/2009, installed on 6/3/2009.
We have had continuous problems from the beginning including but not limited to: The door seal was improperly aligned causing the lower rack to hit it and jump off of the guide when unloading. Eventually this caused the rollers to pop off which would lead to removing the rack and putting the rollers back on. I have done this so many times that the rollers are now worn down and will not stay on. The mounting brackets are very light weight, both broke within 6 months. With the mounting brackets broke, the washer was slightly out of level and prevented the tub from emptying completely. I have since put a wedge under the front of the washer to help this issue. I do not overload washer and still have problems with dishes being clean. The one good thing I can say is the dishes are completely dry at the end of cycle. My calls to LG were answered with "If the problems are not a manufacturing defect I would be charged for each service call", they acknowledged the problems with this unit are common, but would not commit to taking care of it. My days with LG's Lifes Good claim is over. Please consider other products before falling for the advertising hype.

I have had this dishwasher for 8 months and bought it from Home Depot. The circuit board just recently stop working and it will no longer power on. I have owned several dishwashers in my lifetime because of several moves and have never had a problem this serious. The local service contractor for LG has not been helpful. It took several days between the time I called and the time they came out to investigate. And, the contractor did not bring a control board with him even though that is the most common reported problem for the symptom I observed. Then, it takes at least a week more for them to retrieve the part and make another visit. I am still waiting for that next visit. One of the reasons we bought this version was because we thought the stainless steel tub would have less plastic smell during initial use. This one has smelled like plastic worse than any other model we owned. In hind-sight that might have been because the circuit board in the door was burning up. I think you could get much higher quality for a much lower price.

VERY GOOD DISHWASHER,

I don't understand why people do not like this dishwasher. I have never had a dishwasher that worked this well. I used to have to clean off all my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher, and they never would seem to come completely clean. This is the first dishwasher that I have ever had that really cleaned the dishes completely. Make sure you use the recommended detergent packs and rinsing agent, but the dishes come out spotless. It's hard to find good quality these days. Most people only write when they have complaints, but I want to support a company when it does a good job. This dishwasher is excellent.
It does take 2 hours for a complete cycle, which does seem a little long. But if the dishes come out this well, I don't really care.

LG -Life is not good!,

We have the LG LDS4821WW. We have called LG 6 times, have had 3 separate repair services and the unit continues to dump water on our kitchen floor. LG services says that if the technician deems the unit unrepairable, they will replace the unit. We have the forth visit next, hopefully, they will deem it unrepairable. The door and bottom rack are misaligned and caused the rack to come off track at unloading.
