A "booklet" indeed,

You should know that the "booklet" here is a booklet indeed. It's the size of a CD case. That means it's very difficult to use while practicing. At 120 pages thick, it's very difficult (i.e., impossible) to open it up and lay it flat so you can look at it while you practice. This is such a poor format choice for a piano instruction book that it nearly defies belief. It is possible to photocopy individual pages, or else to use clips to pin both sides of the book to a music stand. Just very inconvenient. The material in the book is fairly typical and straightforward. Like many books on blues piano, this one presents some very basic topics briefly, as if it's for people with no musical experience whatsoever (the publisher's website says "no previous musical knowledge or experience is necessary"), but then moves on fairly rapidly so that a complete novice would probably be frustrated or lost. If you do have at least some basic piano-playing experience, then this would be a decent tool to get started on playing blues piano. Except, of course, for the awkward "booklet" format. The inclusion of the CD is of course a big help in any music instruction book. However, the audio quality on the CD is possibly the worst I've ever heard on a CD, including some old blues recordings I have from the 1920's. Terrible. Nearly inaudible. I got this book used at a very low price. I wouldn't recommend paying full price for it, or really any price for that matter, because learning to play piano is frustrating enough by itself. There are plenty of other tools out there in other media and formats that are more convenient.
