My child has a speech problem. This helps her hear what I hear. With this my child works on her sounds and now is getting them right. This is not a immediate fix all but it is a great tool to fixing speech problems.

I purchased this item to help my daughter 3-year-old daughter correct her speech. Upon purchasing and showing to a friend, who is a preschool teacher, we both agree that this item would be great in a classroom as well as at home. It's just an easy way for your child to hear how they sound, what they are saying, what YOU hear from them without electronics or gadgets. It's simple and meant to be used in play, learning and speech correction.

I'm not sure what the previous person who reviewed this product was expecting. I think it's pretty clear it's not electronic, from the packaging. My son's speech teacher recommended this product. It helps the child hear exactly how they sound, when they talk. It's actually quite loud, I was surprised the first time I used it!

I purchased this after seeing the results my daughter's speech therapist had with it. I don't know why this bit of amplification helps so much for the child to hear the differences in speech patterns, but it does. It's a great tool.

If you are hoping for some kind of electronic device, you are going to be disappointed.
It's a hollow two color plastic tube- NOTHING ELSE. I'm not even sure it works that great. So if you are ready to pay $10 (total price) for that. Give it a try.
