Originally I was going to get the Sima but one of the reviewers linked me to this.

The light is VERY VERY BRIGHT. I don't know how people I'm filming would feel. Maybe I'll put some diffusion on it. I plan to use it off camera anyway, holding up the light above in one hand while holding camera with the other. If you use slightly used batteries, not fresh ones, the light will of course not be as bright.

I love that it only uses 2 AAs (as to opposed to 6 in most led lights) and that it came with rechargables. You don't have to buy expensive lithiums that other lights use.

The only gripe that I have with it is that the wheel to tighten it to a bracket is VERY tight. It takes an effort to just to turn it.

Can anybody tell me what the AC adaptor is for? Is it to charge the batteries? I wish it could power up the light without the batteries.

Edit: After a few weeks. the light died. The on/off switch was no installed properly. It was going inside. So opened it to fix it and found that the wires were disconnected from the light. Tried to fix it but it's a goner.

This little light amazed me when I used it for the first time.
I'm a ghost hunter and I need something to use at night, and this was just what I was looking for.
It is very bright and charges up pretty quick.
It was a great add on for my Panasonic HDC-TM700K Hi-Def Camcorder with Pro Control System & 32GB Flash (Black)

It works great with my Canon 7D for taking video. I needed something light and compact with a lot of punch. And for the price this light is awesome! Plus as a bonus that I didn't know, it comes with rechargeable batteries!!! Great product!

I had been a fan of the Sima Video Light light for awhile, in fact I have 3. It is bright but the problem is, I have never been pleased with the just under 1 hour battery life and the ages it takes to charge, plus, the oldest one has begin to flicker and cut in and out on occasion.

I decided to buy the "Power2000 Deluxe LED Digital Video Light Kit" (for a lower cost than the Sima) just because I could change the batteries effectively extending the usage time, but they are BRIGHT!!! really bright, less bulbs but practically as bright as the Sima, I did not expect that, AND the batteries last very long! I am not sure if it can charge from the ac adapter, but if it can the Power2000 Deluxe is the light for me.

I've made LED lights for my camera using other types of store bought portable LEDs but none were color balanced. This did the job at a price that beat the higher priced camera lights the pros use. I'm thinking of getting 2 more as 3 in the woods would make a nice 3 way lighting set-up using just 6 AA batteries and fit in your pocket to boot. I've dropped mine twice on a hard floor and it still works so not too cheap in construction after all.

I purchased this item... Tested it.. worked fine looked great. Put the kit away until I needed it. When the time came. It just didn't work. Changed the batteries... Left them on charge.. Nothing. I would have returned the item, but I just threw it away.. Lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband used this on an overnight trip and the footage he shot (with our dinky Sony Handycam) looked great! It didn't quite look like daylight, but there was a lot of detail and color. The arm's adjustable foot made it easy to get the light in just the right spot. I absolutely recommend this light for the price.

Worked extremely well the first time I used it. Several months later I went to use it and it would not turn on. I plugged it into the charger and after about a half hour, still no light. Opened the battery compartment and smelled melted plastic. I threw it away. At least it was an inexpensive mistake.

I bought two of these lights. One of them is working great, the other one started smoking while I was using it. Luckly the heat melted the plactic in the battery compartment and it broke the contact with the battery. The light went out, or else it might have burst into flames.

The one that is working is really great. I am just afraid to buy another one.

First thing I noticed is the supplied rechargeable batteries were too big in width for the battery compartment, seriously how does that happen? After managing to get the batteries loaded, I turned the unit on, and all LEDs were lit and bright, I then turned off the unit and charged it with the supplied ac adapter. When I go around to trying the unit everything was working fine for about 10 minutes, at which point I noticed 14 of the 28 LEDs had went out, given they were all on the same side, I figured it was a battery issue. I replaced both batteries with two brand new batteries but the problem remained. About 10 seconds after turning the unit on I noticed the base was rather hot and then the unit began smoking. $30 isn't much for such a product, but I'd like to think it is worth more than 10 minutes of proper operation. This one is going back ASAP.
