Product Description

This Bulb is great for replacing your standard 12V Halogen spotlight. The LED Bulb will direct light more accurate instead of spreading the light in any direction and the light seems amazing clean and deliberate compared to halogen or other traditional type bulb. It will last five times longer and are shock resistant. In case you drop the bulb it will likely still work. The bulb will not generate UV and heat so you will avoid burns from touching the bulb. The bulb therefore will not melt your lighting fixture or discolor it. The bulb has a 30 degree spread (beam angle), 4000K color temperature (cool white) and 320 Lumen light output. This bulb have 60 individual LED pieces. The light bulb will unfortunately not work in all 12V power sources and you may have to replace the transformer/adaptor main unit if it has a problem with low load (it may work if you leave one halogen bulb to carry some load). The bulbs application is perfect for home, restaurants, shops, office, etc. Also available in color temperatures warm 2900K and daylight bright 6000K. Note that the bulb is slightly taller than a standard Halogen bulb.

Still great lights..bright..just warmer than I thought they would be.

They provide a lot of light and are much cooler and less wattage, also they are dimmable.

Moreover, they cast an ugly white light, which I find too cold a feel for home use.

Have been trying various LED replacements for MR16 bulbs for clients. The biggest downfall is that most are not bright enough to convince a client to sacrific brightness for energy savings or less heat production, especially when the bulb price is up to 10x that of a standard MR16 halogen bulb.
Ordered only one of these bulbs as the price was considerably less than many others we've tried and I didn't ant to "waste" $12-$13 on a bad bulb.
This LED bulb (12v 3.8 Watt, 320 Lumen) exceeded all expectations and the clients want more.
Now this item is not currently available and I can't seem to find an equivalent even using the model number.
Love the LED bulb.
Hate that I can't buy 10 more.

1/22/11 Update: Hooray! These bulbs are avilable again! I just placed my order for 10 more :-)

A quick review to say that I've bought a couple of these 2 months ago.

Light: pretty white, but not so much that you feel like in a hospital. At first, it shocks a bit compared to your regular yellowish incandescent bulb, but I'm not totally used to it and will buy more for the rest of the house.

The bulb does not have a nice smooth surface and is slightly taller than a regular MR 16 light. So, if you look directly at the recessed light, it does not look as great, but I consider this a minor annoyance worth the energy efficiency gain.

Overall: good price for a 12 V LED light that's quite powerful.

I LOVED these bulbs when I replaced my MR16 bulbs. They were supposed draw very low wattage...They did and were perfect. They were supposed to be very bright...They were and the light they produced was beautiful. They were supposed to last a very long time...Here lies the problem. We replaced a dozen of our MR16 bulbs with these LED bulbs. Two burned out already! It's only been 8 months with (on time) aprox. 200 hours.
What a total let down. We really loved the light they produced. But at the high cost and short life span........
UPDATE 12-2012: The other bulbs are still working perfectly as are the replacement bulbs that the company sent us immediately.
May have just been an unusual fluke.
Still loving the energy savings.
UPDATE 3-18-2013: The original two bad bulbs must have been a fluke. We now have a total of 20 which are still burning bright and hardly using any electricity compared to the filament MR 16's. So we changed our 1 star rating to a 5 star rating.

Great lights, very bright - fit right in the MR16 sockets of my landscape lighting.
Lights are the cool white which I will replace for the warm white but very nice, bright lights.

I've been waiting for LED lights to take over for the mercury laden CFL bulbs for some time now and it looks like we're almost there. Saying these bulbs are a 35W equivalent is a very conservative estimate I think. I used this bulb to replace a 50W Halogen and I'd say it's almost as bright as that, which is something since it's only using 8% of the power the Halogen was devouring, to say nothing about the incredible amount of heat they were putting out. The only drawbacks are that the bulbs are slightly longer than my usual MR16s so I had to fiddle with the light to fit this one into my existing track lights (but it made it) and the LEDs are closer to daylight at 4000K which means most people will think it looks blue compared to their normal lights. I'm going to try their 2900 K, 300 Lumen bulb LED MR16 Spotlight 12V 3.8W (300 Lumen - 35 Watt Equivalent) Alloy Reflector Halogen Replacement Bulb 2900K Warm since I know it gives enough light to spare and my wife will appreciate the warmer light.

I waited over a year to write this review to ensure I have thoroughly tested these bulbs. In brief, I am VERY HAPPY! I use these outdoors with my landscape lighting. I tested a lot of different MR16 based bulbs in my old halogen fixtures. I tried all different prices, types and colors of LED bulbs in my system before settling in these. I now have about 15 of these in my system running all night every night for over a year. They are long-lasting, low draw and have the perfect light color for proper landscape color. It's a nice, clear, bright white. Not yellow, not blue. Just right.

The LED light is very bright, brighter than a 20w halogen bulb based on my testing.

However, it lacks a light reflector/collector so when used for task lighting (e.g., in a kitchen) this results in an abnormally high amount of light being emitted out the side. Even glancing at the light from an angle will temporarily obscure your vision.

Bottom line - for close (2 - 4ft) wall or task lighting, this LED is fabulous. For lighting that has people crossing into the field of view, stick with a narrow LED flood light to avoid temporarily blinding someone who happens to glance at the ceiling.

I went through several led mr16 bulbs.......these are it. They're brighter than halogen bulbs. Hard to believe but true, you will not be disappointed. Keep in mind this specific bulb is the "cool white" which is i believe 4300 temp? if you want to match the halogen "warm" white you need something in the range of 3k
