The lights are a cheap plastic. They are white, not clear as the image for this item suggests. I also noticed mine have a slight pulsing quality to the light. The bulbs are not supposed to be blinkers but the output of light doesn't seem steady. I may have received a defective set.

These lights are not glass as the image would make them seem, and give off a dim glow instead of a bright light. They are also pretty tiny, with a diameter of ~1 cm.

We have a 22" tall artificial tree I put out and decorate if we'll be out of town for the holidays. The tree sits on the mantle in the front room, in front of a high, small picture window, so I was looking for a set of LED lights for the tree, so you could see it from outside through that window. I bought one set of these and it's absolutely perfect.
