The band scratches easily, although it is supposed to be stainless steel.

Let me say right off that this is a neat watch, and I really like it. This watch is a gadget, and it reminds me of that Pulsar I wanted so long ago (but my allowance didn't cover it). Plus, the ruby bezel in the brushed steel case looks retro-cool. My only style issue is that the case itself is a shade thick, a fact that is partly concealed by the lines of the case design.

That said, the choice of materials for the case and "crystal" are less than ideal. A watch case should be made of ~300 steel, but I'd guess this case to be 220 or so, and the surface hasn't been hardened. The crystal is pretty, but appears to be common glass, not mineral glass, sapphire, or "gorilla glass". The result is that almost any contact with a rough surface leaves a scratch on the case or glass. I scratched the case within an hour of having the watch, and scuffed the crystal the first week (bumping against a painted Sheetrock wall). Other scratches have accumulated since then.

The one truly bad point about the watch is that it's not - at all - waterproof. I dunked it underwater opening the tub drain for my baby boy, and it immediately failed. I popped the case, blotted out the water, and dried the electronics and it came back up; but it should not have been that easy to get water into the case. This is a first-order design fault, truly surprising given the price and apparent sturdiness of the device.

Speaking of the electronics package, it's quite solidly built. The watch may not be able to handle water, but shock shouldn't be a problem.

So...I'd say this is a great watch for occasional wear; it's very cool. It's a good watch for daily use if you don't mind having to buff it out periodically and you can keep it dry. I'd buy it again, and probably will.

Reminds me a lot of when the original Pulsar came out about 30 years ago. band is very large, I needed to remove 3 links to fit me, and I am 220 pounds. (not hard to do, or a local jeweler can help). Instructions provided for setting were not accurate, but with only 2 buttons plus a recessed button, it is not hard to figure out. Must push a button to see the time, and it is not easy to read in bright sun, but those are part of the design, and part of its retro charm. I enjoy having it as a novelty piece, and a welcome addition to my watch collection, even though it is not something that I wear every day.

I ordered this watch on a Tuesday and received it on Friday...excellent service! It's a cute watch, not too overbearing. It brings back memories of the late 70's when I was still in high school, I had a couple of these LED watches but I gave them away to friends. It's fun wearing this one, different then most other watches you see in the shops, very cool looking and elegant! If you want to be different, this is the watch to get, thanks again!

This is a very attractive watch which is easy to use.

The color of the band is "interesting". "Dark Silver" is perhaps accurate but you might expect something closer to a dark chrome (most watches are a very light chrome). This band is darker than you might expect and even looks almost a little "bronze". It is not the color of platinum (which you might expect for a "dark silver" metal).

The functionality is excellent, the display can be read both at night and in bright daylight. Of course this comes at the price of having to push a button to check time (push twice to check date). But when not displaying the time, instead of some ugly complex watch face you have a beautiful red crystal.

The second button is only used for setting the watch. (you might think that one button was for time and the other for date but no, that isn't how it works) There is also a tiny, recessed "reset button" but no information on when or if you'll ever need to use it.

Removing a link is done like virtually any other metal watch band. I don't know why they don't provide a tool to do this though. Removing four links resulted in a perfect fit (better than my Seiko). The clasp is both very secure and easy to use.

The style is both retro (1970s when items like these first came out) and futuristic because it looks more high tech than most current watches.
