Pretty Sweet & Really Cheap!,

This review is from: LED Wholesalers 2501MX Blue/Red 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt (Lawn & Patio)
These first generation LED panels are pretty sweet and really cheap as LED grow light technology goes. Though only 14 watts and in the Bi-Band (blue and Red), these LED panels are great in concept, but no longer state of the art. What you really want are the Quad-band 45 watt 3rd generation LED panels (or bigger) which are just now hitting the market. It would take three of these bi-band panels to equal the power of one 45 watt Quad-band and still be deficient in bandwidth. However, the price can't be beat for what you get, and I think we'll see the price drop even further as the 3rd generation Quad-band technology becomes more common place. Considering the LED panels are only 14 watts and generate only 400 lumens, they're really not powerful enough to support the energy needed for the flowering process but if used in tandem with multiple LED panels, or as support lighting for another lighting source, they can deliver the power you need. That said they are LED lights and will last for a really long time. I use two of these panels in conjunction with several compact florescent lights and they're perfect for my needs. However, if you want this panel to be a primary light source, you'll be a little disappointed. You'll want a high wattage 3rd generation panel in that scenario, but the price tag will be nearly triple the cost and quickly go up from there. Knowing all I did when I bought my two LED light panels, I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. They're everything I expected them to be. Educate yourself before investing, you'll be glad you did.

I've used this light for a while now and I'd like to clear the air about some misconceptions and exaggerative advertising.
This is not a BAD light, but unfortunately it is not as good as seller's would like you to believe. The light output and color spectrum simply are not strong enough nor wide enough for this to be the only light on your plant. What is fortunate is that you can cheaply make up for the missing spectrum by adding a couple CFL lights to your room, and you can make up for the strength by adding another LED (I recommend a quality 45w LED panel), in addition to some good reflectors such as white walls or mylar. This will not do the same as a quality 90w LED UFO (and the only ones I'd buy are around $300), but then again it costs roughly half the price. You will not find an LED light company that does not exaggerate it's light's capabilities. Another alternative to this set up is to get a 250w HPS (though 400w is the standard). But you will save a lot of money on electricity and operate much cooler with LEDs. So in summary: This is an decent auxiliary light, but cannot grow plants on it's own like some would like you to believe.

Hydroponic Lamp 225 LED Grow light Panel Red Blue 110 V, 2501MX,
This review is from: LED Wholesalers 2501MX Blue/Red 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt (Lawn & Patio)
Several reviewers have said this product is worthless. I will say the same. The LEDs
will burn out quickly making the unit worthless. It uses a simple capacitor/rectifier diode supply with an output of about 170 v.d.c. That means series diode connections so when a diode goes, all go like the old Christmas tree light strings. Finding a bad diode is time consuming and not worth it because another will go soon. Look at some high quality UV lamp sources instead.
