Pretty Sweet & Really Cheap!,

These first generation LED panels are pretty sweet and really cheap as LED grow light technology goes. Though only 14 watts and in the Bi-Band (blue and Red), these LED panels are great in concept, but no longer state of the art. What you really want are the Quad-band 45 watt 3rd generation LED panels (or bigger) which are just now hitting the market. It would take three of these bi-band panels to equal the power of one 45 watt Quad-band and still be deficient in bandwidth. However, the price can't be beat for what you get, and I think we'll see the price drop even further as the 3rd generation Quad-band technology becomes more common place. Considering the LED panels are only 14 watts and generate only 400 lumens, they're really not powerful enough to support the energy needed for the flowering process but if used in tandem with multiple LED panels, or as support lighting for another lighting source, they can deliver the power you need. That said they are LED lights and will last for a really long time. I use two of these panels in conjunction with several compact florescent lights and they're perfect for my needs. However, if you want this panel to be a primary light source, you'll be a little disappointed. You'll want a high wattage 3rd generation panel in that scenario, but the price tag will be nearly triple the cost and quickly go up from there. Knowing all I did when I bought my two LED light panels, I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. They're everything I expected them to be. Educate yourself before investing, you'll be glad you did.

I've used this light for a while now and I'd like to clear the air about some misconceptions and exaggerative advertising.
This is not a BAD light, but unfortunately it is not as good as seller's would like you to believe. The light output and color spectrum simply are not strong enough nor wide enough for this to be the only light on your plant. What is fortunate is that you can cheaply make up for the missing spectrum by adding a couple CFL lights to your room, and you can make up for the strength by adding another LED (I recommend a quality 45w LED panel), in addition to some good reflectors such as white walls or mylar. This will not do the same as a quality 90w LED UFO (and the only ones I'd buy are around $300), but then again it costs roughly half the price. You will not find an LED light company that does not exaggerate it's light's capabilities. Another alternative to this set up is to get a 250w HPS (though 400w is the standard). But you will save a lot of money on electricity and operate much cooler with LEDs. So in summary: This is an decent auxiliary light, but cannot grow plants on it's own like some would like you to believe.

Hydroponic Lamp 225 LED Grow light Panel Red Blue 110 V, 2501MX,
This review is from: LED Wholesalers 2501MX Blue/Red 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt (Lawn & Patio)
Several reviewers have said this product is worthless. I will say the same. The LEDs
will burn out quickly making the unit worthless. It uses a simple capacitor/rectifier diode supply with an output of about 170 v.d.c. That means series diode connections so when a diode goes, all go like the old Christmas tree light strings. Finding a bad diode is time consuming and not worth it because another will go soon. Look at some high quality UV lamp sources instead.

I moved to Korea about a year ago and wanted to grow some herbs indoors. I did some research and thought that LED lights would be my best bet due to the fact that it hardly consume any power. I had previously bought an LED light and loved it but I had more Herbs then it can handle. I decided to buy this one due to the price. I brought it home and used it, it hardly emits any light, not like how the picture shows. The picture is very deceiving and instead of my plants growing, they started to die. I had to move some of my plants back to my other light. This is the worst product I;ve ever bought on Amazon.

Greenhouse, Hydroponic LED Lamp / B001MVWYZA
I bought this hydroponic lamp to use with my indoors herb garden. Our kitchen doesn't sustain a lot of direct daylight, and I had read that pretty much any herb garden would need strong supplemental light in order to thrive. I purchased this LED light because I was drawn by the cheap operating costs and the low residual heat. In the interest of fairness, I will note that the residual heat is almost non-existent and the operating costs are quite low, but none of that really matters as this light just does not work. My seeds (purchased from four different, reputable companies) simply did not sprout, despite dedicated heat mats and plant food. My purchased herb plants - including three different kinds of basil - died within a few weeks under this light. The spicy globe basil shriveled up into itself and died; the Thai basil dropped its leaves entirely; and the lemon basil just stopped standing up - the stalks just lay over and died. I cannot tell you why, scientifically, this light does not work. I can simply warn you that if you hope to use this as a substitute for direct sunlight for indoor plants that would otherwise only get indirect sunlight, you should spend your money elsewhere. As a side note, this light did not come with any kind of hanging apparatus - the unit is just the solid square with side holes drilled around the edges - and we had to mock up quite the apparatus just to be able to use it at all without having to worry about slippage and breaking - it just wasn't worth it. Shame I cannot retrieve that effort and my wasted money, but I can warn others that this attractive plant light is simply not a good investment. ~ Ana Mardoll

CONS:
1) My first issue with the product is that it comes with no mounting kit. 2) The frame is plastic painted like metal. It feels brittle, but if you're careful, then no worries. 3) The light is WEAK. I MUST place the light no more then 2" to 4" from the plants. My seedlings grew poorly, but they grew. PROS: 1) The product is cheap at $37 with free 2-day s/h. 2) It uses less than 14 watts of power. This is outstanding, and makes it easy for me to test out need seedlings under different conditions. 3) It gives off no noticeable heat! Well, there you have it. All in all, it is a decent product for the price. I won't buy another one because a compact fluorescent bulb rated at the same wattage does better. I can buy one at wally world for 1/4 the price with a small lamp fixture! It's a fun toy, and if you're looking for something to play with, then get this! If you expect anything serious or better than a similar rated CFL bulb, don't bother.

A WASTE OF MONEY, JUNK, WORTHLESS...Stopped working in less than 5 months. This cheaply made LED Panel did not last 1 grow season and does not produce enough lumens for growing. Save your money and buy HID( High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide) or CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lighting). A $1.oo 20 watt "Dollar Store" Fluorescent light will work more than a year and produce almost twice the amount of usable light. I bought this unit to use to supplement existing lighting but soon most of the LED's quit working. For the short time it functioned plants seemed to react. In less than 5 months 75% of the LEDs stopped working. The short life of this LED Grow lighting and high cost/low performance ratio still makes LED lighting MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE TO PURCHASE AND USE. HID, MH and CFL lighting (currently used by by professional nurseries & growers, still offer the most cost efficient sources of indoor lighting. LED lighting does not have enough intensity be used alone to produce blooming and produce fruit or vegetables unless you have 500 watts or more of LED lighting to get the intensity needed to keep plants from running during growth and produce flowering. Additional lighting sources will be needed to produce enough intense light for fruit on plants such as tomatoes or eggplants grown indoors. Hopefully future developments will make LED lighting a cost effective choice for indoor gardening.

Bought 5 of these to replace my homemade CFL set up. Hoping to save power and get better results. After 4 days I had to switch back to save my tomato plants. The leaves within about 6" were okay but everything else was dieing. I found a review on line which explained this.
"However, the problem is that to reach a total of 14 watts, each LED can only consume 0.06 watts of power (0.06 x 225 = approx. 14 watts). This means these lights do not have the ability to penetrate any leaf coverage which will result in thin, stringy plants that are week and will fail to produce flowers or fruit. Any serious grower needs to have an LED grow light where each bulb uses at least 1 watt of power to ensure canopy penetration and proper fruiting & flowering." Wish I had read this before I bought them.

Be very skeptical of the 10 year life ad... when your led burns out in a few months as mine did, LEDwholesalers will remind you the return policy is active for 30 days... where is the 10 year warranty to back up the ad?

There should be an option for zero stars. Amazon should pull this off the site. One unit lost rows of lights within 2 weeks, both units I bought VERY quickly dropped from fairly bright to not at all bright. This product drops to the level of pure scam. I got some growth of plants under it, but they all stalled out and stopped growing as the light faded over the first week or so. Do NOT buy this product.
