5.0 out of 5 stars CHeap, Easy to Install, and Effective
Not sure I could ask for more from these lights. The cost is much lower than other grow systems and you don't have to deal with fragile fluorescent bulbs. Very easy to mount to the exposed rafters in my basement. These LED lights don't appear to put out quite as much light, which means you will probably need more panels than for other systems. Despite that point, the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Does NOT work as a grow light for aquatic plants
I bought this as a replacement for the traditional fluorescent lights on my live plant aquarium. It did not work for such an application. The lower energy cost appealed to me, but it does not put out enough light. Since it was advertised as a 'grow light' I don'e think it functions as such. My plants started dying back after a few weeks. I give it one star because it...

The lower energy cost appealed to me, but it does not put out enough light. Since it was advertised as a 'grow light' I don'e think it functions as such. My plants started dying back after a few weeks. I give it one star because it was advertise as a grow light for plants, but obviously does not put out enough light to function. It also is starting to show corrosion at the base the of the LED bulbs. I will now have to look at other lighting options. I would not recommend this product.

Very easy to mount to the exposed rafters in my basement. These LED lights don't appear to put out quite as much light, which means you will probably need more panels than for other systems. Despite that point, the plants I have under these panels are thriving. They look better than when they were out in the sun all summer. I will definitely purchase more of these lights.

I have lettuce growing under the light as I type this. This light is white when turned off but the bulbs do appear blue and red when on. This results in a rosy glow in the area around the light. I had hoped to use this in my living room but have decided it is better to use it to grow seedlings in my work room. I must add that the lettuce is doing great under the led lights and the power usage is amazingly low compared to the florescent light it has replaced. I will have a crop of baby lettuce shortly. Yum.

The unit is well built, light weight and was easy to mount under my old plant light fixture. I am considering another unit to mount right next to this one. The plants really lean toward the led light. The lettuce seedlings like to be close to the bulbs yet there is no leaf burn even when right on top of the plants.

3.0 out of 5 stars lots of lights but not very bright, January 5, 2011

This review is from: LED Wholesalers 2501WH White 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt (Lawn & Patio)
The product is what it looks like seems well made and plugs in easily but is not very bright even in a darkened basement. in contrast I bought a 11W LED light that screws into an incandecent bulb fixture that is much brighter and cost less than $20.

So while the product is what it says it is and works it is hard to reccomend because the newer generation of LEDs coming out are much brighter and comperable or even better in price.

Bought this LED grow light for my son's Science Fair experiment.
Growing green beans in closed plastic bins would have been impossible with normal incandescent or HID grow lights, but these LED panels are perfect. No excess heat to worry about or dry out the plants, just pure safety and science fun!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great at first, but dims really quickly, June 27, 2011

This review is from: LED Wholesalers 2501WH White 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt (Lawn & Patio)
I don't know what happened. I bought this LED white panel and the LED Wholesalers 2501W+B Blue/White 225 LED 13.8 Watt Square Grow Light Panel 110 Volt.
When they came, they worked really well. They were very bright like LED lights should be. However, the white panel stopped working a few days later. We sent it back. The Blue and white dimmed after 2 weeks. I thought it might be an electrical problem, but everything I plugged into the socket worked fine and when I switched sockets, the lights did not change. It became so dim that I had to put Christmas white LED lights on my salt water tank to give more light. The corals were dying from lack of light.

I am not sure why these LED lights dim, but they did. I am now looking into other energy efficient ways to provide light to my salt water tank.

4.0 out of 5 stars "White" LED Panel review, February 4, 2012

These are useful as display lighting or in a panel array with panels of other wavelengths.
I have used these as grow lights and in order to achieve growth, I had to add a heating mat to keep soil temps above ambient.
You will need to add other color panels to mix wavelengths.
They make excellent camping/ outdoor lights because you can run them off an inverter for a long time. I use some with my little 90 watt solar array.
