This high power 90-watt has no ballasts to burn out like other plant lights. It runs at a warm temperature rather than very hot which is common with most other inefficient plant lights. This more controlled running temperature reduces the need to water so often and keeps rooms with plant lights from getting uncomfortably hot in the summer months requiring additional air conditioning. This state of the art LED grow light is extremely energy efficient, paying for itself many times over annually in electricity savings. It saves 80% to 90% in energy consumption compared to fluorescent tubes, HPS or MHS 95% lights of LEDs can be absorbed by plants, but only 10% by HPS or MHS Reduce grow room temperature but 15 degrees compare to HPS or MHS high power LED estimate to last 50,000 hours. Worked great for about 4 months then half of it died due to a bad power supply. I tried repeatedly to get a new power supply from the manufacturer and they repeatedly sent me the WRONG power supply even after I sent them the defective power supply as an example. IDIOTS.

I bought two of these in late 2009 to use on citrus trees that I have to bring indoors in the winter November - March. These lights are on a timer and run about 8 hours each day. The citrus trees and other plants really thrive under these lights. Very reliable, quiet, energy efficient, and super bright.
