My security video caught a guy on the sidewalk at 3:30 AM. He saw a car coming and ducked between my house & my neighbor's. I decided to make that dark area less inviting.

I found the 10 Watt LED Floodlight on Amazon and saw the reviews and ordered it. It arrived quickly and when I turned it on, I was very impressed. Reminded me of how sometimes an incandescent that's about to burn out will suddenly get super bright just before dying... I am amazed at how bright this little cluster of 9 1-watt leds runs.

Another reviewer said that the bracket was flimsy. The one on mine was fine - all that is needed for this compact unit. The case seems rugged and well put together.

My only concern (like some other reviewers) is whether it can continue to work long enough to be of real value. I have mine on a dusk-to-dawn timer, and if it doesn't burn out in 2 years, I'll be very satisfied.

UPDATE: 07/07/2013 - approaching the third year of dusk-to-dawn daily service, and it still shines brightly!

I purchased this light with the intent to use this to replace my 100 watt (energy pig) halogen light. I knew before buying that the LED was not as bright and would be a white light vs. the orange colored halogen. I must say, for the 10 watt vs. 100 watt I am quite impressed. Yes the lumens are less however, the brightness and the spread of the light are more han enough to light up my driveway. These are a good replacement for those energy cravng small halogen lights.

WELL, the fixture arrived today and I must tell you , I was taken back by it's very small 3"H x 4.5"W x 2.75"D size, talk about small, kinda like a "Mighty Mouse thing"!! :-) Any way, I mounted it to light up my "Stars & Stripes" at night for a 24/7 display. Yup, it does the job and then some, a very bright white light, 10 watts of power consumption lights up my 6' x 10' flag on a 30 ft pole 110%. The quality is in par with the fixture cost and $$ value. I am very pleased with it and plan to purchase around 10 more for lighting up my landscape shrubs, grass and trees. Do the math folks, that would be lighting up my entire yard, front & back with 100 watts and mean, "LIT-UP". It is a true flood light with a 125 plus degrees of spread but remember that will vary based on distance from objects being high lighted etc... Now the question is, how long will they really last??? You know what I mean, that is if you have ever used CFL's with all the hype of long life (5-10 years++), most do not last much more than a year, where is the TRUTH in advertising anyway??. I plan to up date my review and let you all know how well they do!!

In addition, LEDwholesalers are very fast shippers, I ordered it July 25th and had them in hand on July 27th and installed same day to boot, how bout that!

My only gripe or "CON" would be: "Made In China!" What is wrong with this US of A, we should be manufacturing these here, what the heck, "OVER?" I did the search and couldn't find anything even close Made here in the USA!!

Sept. 4, 2011: Add-on to my above comments. I purchased 10 more of these great little guys and plan to install very soon. They are exactly what I needed for my outdoor landscape lighting.

I rewire this to be a house work light and I really like it. small and well constructed look like it will last for a long time.

pro.
1. solid aluminum construction with glass front and large heat sink that will help the LED to last longer.
2. waterproof LED Driver inside a water sealed aluminum box with silicon rubber
3. decent brightness from 10W LED
4. did I mention this LED floodlight have a much better built quality than what I normally get from "Made in China"

con.
1. even with this brightness some of my flashlights beat this floodlight with brightness, output is around 500-600 Lumen base on my eyes! and compare to some SSC P7 LED
2. unit didn't come with prewire wall plug
3. the cut up wire that came out from the unit is very short and not typical color codes. yellow/red/green and no instruction.

if your unit come with wires in yellow/red/green.
yellow is ground! typically green is ground in most electronic stuff.

I give it 4 stars mostly due to the fact that this thing really puts out some serious light. Replaced 2 halogen floods on the outside of my house with this and am very impressed. That said, there are some down sides. First, the mounting bracket is junk. There simply is no good, sturdy way to mount this thing. Expect to do some rigging of your own. I've only had the thing a few days, so I've no idea of longevity or how truly weatherproof it is. Will update. If you're looking for a crazy bright LED outdoor flood...this is it. I'm buying more to do some upshot lighting on my house as well as for a work light.

I looked at the customer uploaded pictures carefully, and noticed in one image it shows an internal power supply with 12V output. The power driver itself is also a sealed unit in the picture.

Based on this data, I bought an external 12V power supply so I could power these lights off of some low-voltage landscape cabling. My plan was to remove the internal power supplies and hardwire the LEDs direct to the input cord.

Well, the lights I received do not use 12V power supplies, I think they are 24V. This might be helpful if you're taking a similar route as me, and want to drive a bunch of these off a single power supply. There appears to be multiple models. You may need to get see what is in your lights first before buying a power supply, if you want to go this route.

This info is not relevant to you if you're wiring the lights to either 120 or 240V input.
