I've been looking for T3 bi-pin LED bulbs to replace the Phillips 10-watt halogen bulbs in my landscape pathway/walkway light fixtures and was thrilled to come across these bulbs. I bought this product along with the 15 LED, 1.5w light bulb, to test out their capability and compare it to another LED bulb I was testing (The Phillips).

First impressions:
The 18 LED bulb is significantly larger than either the 15 LED bulb, other LED bulbs I've tried or the standard halogen bulb. I'd say the 18 LED bulb is about 5 times larger than the standard halogen bulb (see photos). This will present a problem to anyone trying to fit the bulb into a tight space in a fixture.
The 15 LED bulb on the other hand is much smaller - about half the size and will more easily fit into the glass enclosures of most garden fixtures. Yet even this one is still larger than the halogen bulb, but not as large as some other LED bulbs out there.

Physical Characteristics:
Both bulbs are very rough in their construction. Lots of sharp edges and the pins are not exactly straight. Not show stoppers, but then again, nothing you want to be seen in a fixture during the day. With the 15 LED bulb, you can hide it behind many frosted glass enclosures, whereas the 18 LED bulb you will have to forgo the bulb covers and leave it exposed. Considering the price I would have expected a bit better build construction and fit and finish to the bulb then there was. My initial impression was that they looked like they were built by someone in their garage.

Pin spacing is perfect, no issues with installation. The only comment I would have here is that the pins were actually a bit long, but not a major issue.

Nice and bright, great replacement for 20W halogen bulb in landscape lighting. I'm a bit worried about the lifetime in an enclosed fixture like I have. I figure the payback time at $15 a pop is about 3-4 years, so it really depends how long they last. Will update review if they start burning out.

I am using these in low voltage landscape lighting with a well regulated 12VDC power supply though they do support 12VAC which is what landscape lighting transformers output. The light output is brighter then a 10W but dimmer then a 20W G4 \ JC bi-pin halogen. The color temperature is slightly cooler then that of an incandescent but that is just me being picky and it is not a big deal for what I am using it for. These units are significantly larger then G4 halogen bulbs so make sure your fixture has the space for these bulbs before ordering them.

The landscape fixtures I mounted these bulbs in are exposed \ open fixtures. The bulb is not enclosed in a fixture with a glass cover which is outside of this bulbs intended purpose. This LED bulb is listed under the automotive category in amazon and commonly used inside RV \ campers, in a sealed housing on the outside of a vehicle, or inside homes. The printed circuit board (PCB) is not sealed so it can soak up moisture and there is no protection form water splashing on the bulb in a heavy rain with a open fixture. I installed these in landscape fixtures at a house located of a salt water bay which destroys any non-protected metal in a few years so it was critical to add some moisture protection to these bulbs. I painted a coat of electronics conformal coating on them to seal them from moisture issues. You can buy a small bottle of this online for $10 and would be enough to easily do 20+ LEDs. I used MG Chemicals brand Urethane Conformal Coating, model number 4223, part number 4223-55ML.

I bought these to replace the 20W halogen bulbs in my Malibu wall wash landscape lights. When I received these, I was surprised by how large they are and thought that they might not fit my lights. But they did with a little room to spare. When they were installed, I was pleasantly surprised by the brightness and the warm light color--just what I wanted. My halogen bulbs only last 2-4 months so I hope these last longer. Will update if they blow prematurely. Plan to use them 10 hours a night.

The G4 LED works in two types of holders that I had for G4 halogens, 10W in 12v system. They are bright enough but almost didn't fit in the spot light fixture. The picture and description made it appear that it would have been smaller then it really is. They are still working fine after 3 months.

Bought this to replace a regular landscape light bulb. Once I got the prongs in the socket it worked great. now I don't have to change out the bulb every other month. Very bright and warm light.
