My son love this one, I had to help some with the building, he is 7. I like the versitaly, he can use it as 4 diffrent ships when compleated.
he especally like the little men & aliens. now I need to get the rest of the set!

My son loves electronic gadgets but lego toys are the one thing he and his friends (8 year olds) like even more than than gaming. He and his friends will spend hours building and playing with lego sets. I highly recommend this or ANY Lego building set.

My 9 year old is a huge lego fan and specifically a Mars Mission fan. Needless to say when they pulled Mars Mission from the shelves in the stores he was devatstated!! He has looked everywhere on-line for some sets but like anything else the prices are so high. Needless to say he was so happy to receive this set. The price was good, shipping, was quick, and he had it assembled the same day!! Highly recommend!!

"An attack, Help!!!", said the Mission Commander. "OK, one more choice, build the Recon Dropship". Pros: Cool missile, head moves round and round (psst, almost), so many cannons, turning cannons on crystal extractor, movable lasers in the front. Questions: Why 2 aliens inside the extractor? The Alien Strike has only one alien when it is so much bigger! Cons: Miner does not attach to the Dropship so well. It can get frustrating. The capsule holders do not do what they are supposed to do on the box, so I had to put them on a different place. Overall, great set.

I have bought thousands (& thousands and thousands) of dollars worth of everything imaginable from wonderful Amazon.com but this Christmas I noticed that they are starting to charge exorbitant amounts -- more than even the manufacturer's published prices on a lot of items, specifically Lego Bionicle-type items. This product for example is $[...] less both in the official Lego magazine my child gets and in Toys R Us both in-store & on-line. Why is that? Why are they willing to jeopardize a wonderful and successful business model and why at a time when the public needs more than ever to trust them? What's going on Amazon? What about your (former) low price guarantee. Just look up this item at Toys R US dot com for a perfect example --- one of many I have found this season.

I know that aliens have been probing us for years, but I find it vaguely disturbing to watch my five year old son fly the Recon Drop ship around the room with the two aliens held captive in specially-designed capsules. One of the purposes of the Drop ship is to fly the aliens back to the home base (found in another Mars Mission set) where they can be examined on an operating table. The Drop ship is a fun toy for five year olds (keep in mind that YOU'LL have to build it) but we'll have some explaining to do when the real aliens show up.
