I am an AFOL (Adult fan of Lego) and have put together about half of the Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series Sets. These are made to be larger both in size and piece count to other Lego Sets and also show more detail and be the most iconic representation of that vehicle or character ever done. These sets generally are noted with 5 digit ID numbers that start with 10 (such as this one at 10215). This is one of the LEAST celebrated of the UCS and probably for good reason because people generally don't think Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter is that cool. Well neither did I, until I built this one!

It's longer than the UCS Snowspeeder or the UCS Sandcrawler and comes with a plaque and stand. The build actually reminded me a bit of the Snowspeeder although with a bit less detail and certainly fewer pieces in the set. Don't let that piece count fool you. Yes, it is possible to finish this set in 3 hours or so for an experienced Lego enthusiast, but it's a bit of a different build with different parts that comes together interestingly. It looks impressive when finished and it really quite "inexpensive" when compared with other UCS sets.

The downside is that there are no minifigs that come with this set other than a droid head that snaps on one of the wings, but that is fairly common for UCS sets to not come with a lot of mini figures. Again, don't let the low piece count or high piece to dollar ratio scare you away on this one. It's a large model that is a fun build and excellent display.
