# of pieces: 58
Minifigures included: Zombie, Witch, Ghost w/ chains.
*The zombie is unique to this set and will probably be a huge draw. He is really a nice minifigure, although why he is carrying a walkie talkie and a briefcase is beyond me.
*The witch can be added to any haunted castle or forest cabin and carries her broom. She has some nice details on her belt.
*The ghost is exactly the same as almost every other Lego ghost out there, but that isn't a bad thing. I, personally, can never have enough ghosts. He does come with a chain, however.
*The tombstone build is really quite clever. It uses some simple smaller pieces to make a neat little grave. The printed tile piece that usually serves as a letter is used here on a grey piece to serve as the inscription. Lots of creepy vine pieces in dark green, also. The bat on top is listed as part of the build, but I'm sure Lego won't mind if you want to use him as a regular bat.
*A rat, spider, red snake, and green snake round out the set, giving you a nice quartet of creep crawlers place wherever you choose.
Overall: This is a fun little accessory set that your favorite Lego fan or Trick 'r Treater will love. I've had a blast incorporating it with my other sets, and I imagine you will too.
Complexity: With just 58 pieces (and the minifigures pre-assembled), there isn't much to work on here. It takes all of five minutes to assemble the tombstone display.
Playability: Like all minifigure sets, you can have a lot of fun with this one. They can augment existing Monster Hunters sets or just terrorize the residents of Lego City. I must confess to popping the Zombie's head off and putting it on various other minifigures just for fun.
This is a fun little Halloween-themed minifigure collection, and it can be a neat decoration as well. It's small though. If you're buying it as a gift it's probably on par with a stocking stuffer or Easter basket present. It's a good value if you can get it in the 10-15 range, but above that it may not be worthwhile.
If you already have some other spooky lego pieces you can do really cool things. I used the Harry Potter Burrows to create an entire haunted house scene. I placed the gravestone over the Weasley pig pen, and then put a lego coffin in there. Yes, the zombie sleeps in the coffin during the day. I've given the ghost a transparent block to stand on so he looks like he's floating. I own a Gotham City Man-Bat, and so I put him hanging upside down at the front door. The witch is set inside the house, along with a vampire and a cyclops.
So I highly recommend this set if you want to add to your collection of lego monsters and spooky accessories.
