This lego has proved very popular with my son (aged 6) and all his playdates. It looks good and works well. However, the kit lacks an essential item - a tube of good glue. After playing for the first time, we needed to move the pitch, and there was no way to pick it up without it falling apart! I subsequently bought the Lego storage table to try and fit it onto something stable, but it doesn't fit properly and is way bigger than any of the bases we've been able to find. The solution was superglue, which of course prevents us from remodelling the traditional pitch into anything else....I would also take issue with Lego's policy of providing no spare bits whatsoever - except balls and elastic bands. There are quite a few little fiddly bits which tend to flip off (yes, even when glued in place), more specifically those that keep the net in place. A good goal and an agitated goalie could have you writing to Lego for spare parts while you spend the next few weeks crawling around to look for lost balls which get through the back of the net when the fiddly bits fall off....

This Lego Set Works Well and Stays Together,

My four year old received this for his birthday. Although he could not assemble it himself, once it was assembled he and my ten year old have really enjoyed playing with it. I assumed it would fall apart like many of the other Lego sets and be too frustrating for a four year old, but it stays together remarkably well.

My kids love Legos and we have so many but this one has no durability whatsoever. It fell apart a day after we got it and the parts have been sitting in the box ever since. It needs some type of support base with it to help hold the board together. My 10 year old could not put this set together and got extremely frustrated. What's the point if they have to wait for their parents to put it together.

This soccer set is a great example of a LEGO - fun to put together and fun to play with after. The set is wonderfully made and playing soccer with it is amazing fun. If you are into soccer you can even build different field formations and design soccer strategies by re-shuffling the blocks that make the player perimeters. It work even for smaller kids than recommended - they may not be able to participate much in building it but my son truly enjoys playing with it and has little by little even learned to put it together himself. Comes with pleanty of balls (which are always in danger of being lost). The players are also standard lego characters and we had some fun dressing them up as firemen and construvtion workers.

This game takes a while to make (half-an-hour), but is worth the effort. This is a playable soccer game. There are bowl-shaped holes in which you place each Lego guy. The holes catch the balls and prevent the ball from stopping in the middle of the field. To shoot, simply tilt back the player with an attatched, spring-loaded holder, and fire. The goalies, which instead are rubber-band loaded, are easy to guide. Since there's only one player shooting at a time and one blocking, it's not difficult to control. Playing this is fun and anyone can win. The set is customizable, so you can make a standard field, an L-shaped one, whatever. Make sure you make this on a flat surface, though. If you want, on your own you can make a scoreboard, ball-holder, and any other accesories you can think of. I recommend this for anyone who likes a laid back game.

It actually works fairly well,

When my 6-year old son first set his sights on the Lego Soccer set I was thinking it was cute but a stupid idea. I thought that the stationary players would make the game difficult with the ball constantly rolling off to some dead corner. We just got ours and after assembly, I couldn't believe how well this worked! The flat areas of the field are curved just enough to cause the ball to almost always roll to some player. The players can turn and aim fairly well. Although it's not as fast paced as foozball, this is a playable and enjoyable game. This has got to be the hit of the Christmas season. If your child likes legos, this is one of the best. The usual picture-based assembly instructions are easy to follow, even for my 6-year old (with a little help). Another reviewer mentioned the game fell apart too easily. Well, ours was works fine on the table top, but on a rug or other soft surface, it will bend and start to fall apart. As long as you assemble it correctly and play it on a table, floor or other hard surface, it is as duarble and well designed as any lego product.

I gave this to my 12 year old son for Christmas last year. It was easy and fun to put together. It was so much fun to play that it sat on our coffee table for an entire week. We had alot of family around for that week and Everyone wanted to play it. Little ones, older kids, and adults. The players were easy to manipulate yet challenging enough to make it fun. It took a pretty good beating once the play got a little wound up. We loved this game and highly recommend it to Lego fanatics.

Lego Soccer is cool because you could play soccer on a table but not as fast and it also breaks if you play on a soft surface like carpet or bed and stuff like that. Otherwise the game rocks. Its pretty easy to build. The shooting is easy to control. The ball does not roll to one corner and stops it always moves to one person. You can also make the feild any shape you want it to be.

This was the hit of my son's Christmas. We spent quite a bit of time putting it together, but the directions were easy to follow. Once together the game was played for hours by my 7 year old son as well as several adults in their 30's. It reminded some of the older players of foozeball. All in all it is getting plenty of use.It would be nice to have a scoreboard, but I understand it can be purchased separately. Also I wish the box was large enough to put the toy away fully assembled. The durability rating is solely based on the fact that this is made of legoes and therefore will fall apart if used too roughly. Of course it can be put together again, but may be frustrating to smaller children.

This is a good toy for kids 6-13. It is very fun to play. It holds up pretty good unless you play on something soft, then it breaks apart. I think you should get the add-ons also. I have some and they make the soccer field turn in to a stadium. Next I am going to get the bus. I am 12 and I love this toy. It is good for any LEGO fan.
