This Fire Truck really, really, really looks like a fire truck! The front of it is probably the coolest part, if you take it off and give it to someone they'll know it belongs on a fire truck. It has two firemen, fire tools, a shiny silver helmet (Only available in this set) and it is very durable. There are lots of very useful parts on this fire truck too so if you ever decide to take it apart, you'll have lots of cool new parts.

If you read my reviews about the Lego products, you will see that I repeated my self on all of them, and that is because these people never fail to amaze me with new product lines. City line is for youngsters ( I bought it to a 7 y/o). He is having fun with it, and I think I won't be having trouble finding a gift for any coming occasions. People please believe me when I tell you, that I played with legos when I was young, and now my both boys are playing with their products too... Do Not Buy Another Building Products Other Than LEGO.

My son went through the entire Lego website to pick out which Lego he wanted to purchase with his own money. He is a 6 year old who took a Lego engineering summer camp, where he learned to build all kinds of cool Lego figures. This is the kit he decided upon and let me tell you, he plays with it everyday for hours at a time. He would rather play with Legos than watch tv, which in today's world is fantastic. He not only put together the entire kit himself, but takes it apart and makes new figures out of the pieces. Some of the pieces are rather small, so he has needed my help snapping them together, but overall he is able to read the directions and put the pieces together independently. He is constantly showing me something new he has built. What a great use of imagination and creativity! He is already looking forward to buying his next kit.

I just got this for my 5th birthday and I love it! I put this set together mostly by myself and the directions are easy to follow with mommy and daddy's help. I like that it doesn't fall apart unless I want to take it apart. I like that this set comes with three things to build. The ladder is easy to snap back on if it comes off. I love all my Lego sets and recommend Legos! - Ian, 5.
Mommy's note: highly recommend Legos to help teach your child the importance of following directions (step-by step instruction manual) and helps to increase fine motor skills (fairly easy snap together construction). And a fun time to spend together as a family!

This is the Best Fire Truck Lego Has made, I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd. Although this is more half fire truck and half utility truck it is still a cool truck. The first truck I have I kept as Lego intended, the second I turned into a non-ladder truck with pieces from other sets, and used the other ladder section for a utility truck. The recue trailer was a cool bonus, the boat looks liek a Navy Seal's Zodiac Raft, Too Bad Lego has discontinued this product It is a nice platform for building all sorts of Fire/Rescue trucks as well as other cool trucks.

I got this set at Walmart Actually for 19.99. It is a good set with two minifigures in it. I would recomend it to any lego collector. Well lets start at the front,It has good detail on the license plate and the windsheild. it has a cockpit gor the firefighter and lights on the top. It also has a section with a door that when you open you will find a bucket where you can kepp the extra fire equitment. Now moving on, you have a ladder that can extend about half a foot and has a stand that can turn around when you extract the holders. On the stand it has about half a foot string sith sm plastis little nosel in the end and a fire estinguisher. Moving on to the trailor at the end of the truck. it has to actally useless compartments where nothing can fit into it. on the top of the trailor, there is a boat. On the top of the boat, there is a stering wheel and an engine and a lifejacket on a stand. To put on the life jacket on the minifigure you have to take of the head and slide the lifejacket on the neck then put the head back on. The boat is detachable and is the trailor to the truck for land fires. Well i hope i influenced you enough to buy this great, fun,AMAZING,lego fire truck.

Since he thoroughly enjoyed the LEGO City Off Road Fire Rescue (7942) set, we decided to see how he did with the larger Lego City Fire Truck. The set has 214 pieces and when completed includes a full-sized fire truck, trailer, a small boat, a pair of fully-equipped firefighters and related gear.
Complexity: My son is only 4, so I was the one building this set. My son was able to assemble simple elements like the wheels and some of the decorative external pieces, plus of course the firefighter figures. I found this to be a very simple set to assemble. Playability: Unlike the Off Road Fire Rescue vehicle, the Lego City Fire Truck isn't as durable as I'd hoped. The ladder in particular, while a totally cool feature, falls off if you look at it too hard. Naturally that frustrated my son, as it's not an easy fix for younger builders. The side supports tend to snap off a lot as well. The lack of side doors is also a negative, as it means taking off the roof and windshield when you want to get the firefighter in and out of the truck. While I enjoyed building this set with my son and he does enjoy playing with it, I think the Lego City Fire Truck may be more effective as a display piece than as a playable toy.

There are only 2 figurines not 3 as advertised. I hate this toy. I spend more time putting it back together than my son plays with it. It is in a constant state of falling apart. The ladder of the boom is not properly counter balanced and breaks off every time my son touches the ladder. I bought this toy explicitly for the moving boom and ladder. I actually tried to crazy glue it this morning (only opened this toy yesterday) out of frustration. Now the truck falls apart at a weaker point. Poor construction and not sure why it has such high ratings. Save yourself some time and frustration and buy something else.

Got this for my 5 and 6 year old boys. The 5 year old put together the trailer that holds the boat on top, and the 6 year old put the truck together. The 5 year old helped with the ladder, which he needed a little help with. The ladder actually works pretty well, which is good because any kids favorite part of a fire truck is the ladder. A good addition to the Lego City line.
