5.0 out of 5 stars Very Stable, Very Detailed Model
I just purchased this redesigned AT-ST from a local retail store. For the basic price of $20 for 244 pieces, this set is well worth the price.

First putting together was a chore. Instructions leave a lot to be desired. Then you have to be kidding to think you could ever own this and and actually touch it. It falls apart constantly. Tried to crazy glue.It fell and shattered. R.I.P. Lego AT-ST.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Stable, Very Detailed Model, February 5, 2007
This review is from: LEGO Star Wars AT-ST (Toy)
I just purchased this redesigned AT-ST from a local retail store. For the basic price of $20 for 244 pieces, this set is well worth the price.

I purchased the original AT-ST years ago and this model far surpasses that one in all ways. It's larger, much more stable, and has a unique pivoting mechanism which rotates the cab. It was very difficult to get the original AT-ST to stand upright without falling over; the 7657 is extremely stable.

The original AT-ST had Chewbacca at the controls which was pretty cool. However, not as cool as the AT-ST driver that has a new helmet and blaster. The only drawback is that his minifig head is flesh colored instead of traditional LEGO yellow.

It took about 20 minutes to put the model together. It wasn't very challenging but interesting to see how the rotating mechanism was put together.

I would highly recommend purchasing this set. For the low price of $20 for such a detailed and complete set, it's well worth the price. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great model of the AT-ST from the Star Wars series, August 10, 2007

This a great model of the Galactic Empire's AT-ST. It is surprisingly detailed - with a lot of neat features like the ability to swivel the cockpit and the gun ports. The cockpit also opens up to reveal an Imperial trooper, complete with an assualt rifle to defend himself from those nasty Rebels! This will make a superb addition to any collection of Lego Star Wars sets.

There is only one minor complaint - although the legs can be moved, the model will only stand upright (in a stable posture) in the one single default position for the legs. But, that's really allright if you are buying it to be more of a model rather than a toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun addition to your "Star Wars" collection, October 4, 2007

My son loves this model so much that he now has three of them. They are pretty simple to build. They are fun for the kids to play with after constructed, and the walking action is pretty good.

The "Star Wars" themed LEGO people are a nice touch and my favorite thing about this series of models.

Like most lego products, it's more for posing than for action battles. My son really enjoyed putting it together. Not meant to be durable, but not cheap at all. Good for developing instruction-reading and building skills.

Bought this for my 9 year old. He put it together by himself in about 2 hours with breaks. Held up to play remarkably well. Finished product looks great.

My 12 year old son and his best friend have spent many hours making up their own Star Wars stories and reenacting battles from the movies with this toy. They love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Lego collector's edition, March 14, 2009

Granted, there are two points of view on this Lego set.

The first and valid is that the model is somewhat fragile if one ultimately expects to use the completed model as a play figure.

The second is for those who would intend to display the fine model as a part of their lego collection.

If your a collector you'll love it and if you're not you may not be so pleased. This collector loves the AT-ST.
