An Ideal Starter Kit for Younger Children
If your child has graduated from Lego Duplos and is ready to take on a real Lego set, the City Corner could be the place to start. Its modular designs and easy-to-follow instructions makes it relatively easy to build out the set.

Our advanced nine-year-old tester completed the entire set in about two hours. The set comes with some bigger pieces, making it easier for younger users to build.

A Complete City Corner
The City Corner is a real hopping place. At the heart of the corner is a three-story pizzeria with a glassed-in storefront and a pizza maker flipping a pizza. A business man waits for the bus at the bus stop as a boy on a skateboard rides by on his way to the skateboard shop.

The corner also includes a fire hydrant, street lamp, potted plants and several other accessories that give the street corner real city charm.

Five Figurines and a Movable Bus
Included with the set are five figurines -- a bus driver, pizza girl, skater boy, mechanic, and business man -- as well as all the pieces you'll need to construct a big city bus complete with side mirrors, headlights, windshield, and plenty of seats. Once constructed, the bus itself measures over seven inches long.

What's in the Box
483 standard Lego pieces that include five figurines (bus driver, pizza girl, skater boy, mechanic, and business man), many accessories, and instructions.

This Lego set includes 5 figurines and parts for a city bus.

My kids (7 & 8yrs old) are Lego fanatics, and this is their favorite set so far. I bought this along with a Lego Community Workers set and they have spent hours playing with it! They have set up a skate and bike shop - the friendly mechanic there sells bikes, helmets, and skateboards, fixes wheels and also services the bus. There is a pizza shop where friends meet and Moms and Dads have date nights (LOL), the place is always packed. The bus stop is always busy with people waiting. The bus is amazing and can hold many people.

I love the educational value of this set. It is hard to find real-world role playing toys for boys so they can act out real life situations. I highly recommend getting the City Corner and the Community Worker minifigure set together. Now we are deciding what other places we will build - like a school, a grocery store, a hospital. The City Corner can be the jumping-off point for building your entire Lego city!

You can't beat Legos for durability. I know these toys will be in my family for as long as they are wanted.

This set should be at the top of your child's list!

I bought this for my daughter who is building a Lego town. She really found it easy to build, except for the bus which was a little tricky. It is fun to sit the people in the pizza parlor at tables. Also, you can get the pizza lady to put a pizza in a little oven with a door that opens. On the second floor of the pizza parlor there are windows that open. There is a skate shop that sells skateboards and hats. It comes with a guy that has a helmet and skateboard, so you can ride him around the city. The bus stop has a bench area that people can sit on especially a little business man guy. The detail in this set is impressive. Lego has come a long way since I was a kid.

My 8 year old was kind of into LEGOS so long as he had assistance, but this kit inspired him to work solo. He loved creating each structure and is eager to build more parts of Lego City! Love how each building or bus is in its own bag - makes for quick play. The directions were easy for my son to do on his own. He is HOOKED. :)

A Kid's Review on May 13, 2011
I received this set for Christmas. This set took me 2 hours to complete. It stays together very well and was very enjoyable to put together. There are 5 characters in the set. The little skateboard guy is really cool. The pizza place has lots of accessories like pizzas, chairs, tables ,glasses and a pizza oven. The shop has two tools, an extra skateboard, a helmet and a hat. The bus has lots of seats and a bus driver. There is a bus stop with a bench, a light, a trash can and some flowers. I would recomend this set to anyone who loves legos.

I gave this to my daughter for her 9th birthday - she has inherited many. many legos (from her two older brothers as well as from what I grew up with!) and while she is very creative in creating her own schools, spas, zoos, etc. she also has loved some of the sets. She had built her own "school bus", but she was thrilled to have a "real" bus and especially getting a "girl" (from the pizzeria) was HUGE - as well as she loved getting another skateboarder and TWO skateboards - she had an old one from her brothers, and has always wanted another. I was shocked at how quickly she put it all together - very well broken down into separate packaging - no frustration at all - now she wants the Fire truck set!

My son loved building and playing with this set. It includes a yellow bus, a two-story pizzeria, a bike shop, a bus stop, and some minifigures. Those items are fun to play with, and they make a great addition to you or your child's Lego City layout. I would recommend it!

After reading the other reviews here, my wife and I decided that the Lego City Corner would be the perfect larger size playset for our 4-year old son, a budding Lego enthusiast. The City Corner features a 3-story pizzeria (complete with oven, tiny wine glasses and pizzas), a bike and skateboard shop, a bus stop, a city bus and five minifigures.

Complexity: There are close to 500 pieces in this set, so it was by far the largest project we've attempted. Still, Lego's clear instructions and the fact that each major section's pieces were separately bagged made assembly a breeze. My son is still too young to really work the smaller pieces, but he built many of the larger elements, such as walls, windows, roofs and doors, and of course the minifigures are his domain. All told, it took about 90 minutes to complete.

Playability: This is by far my son's favorite Lego set. He's already spent hours with it, assigning names and roles to the figures, loading and unloading them from the bus, and arranging dinners at the pizzeria. Once we brought the City Corner together with his other Lego City vehicles, he had an even better time. It's an almost frustration-free set as well.

The Lego City Corner isn't cheap, but it is worth every penny. It's the perfect "next step" for kids who are ready to go beyond just the Lego vehicles, and it's also just a lot of fun to put together and play with.

My kids are 6 and 3 and enjoy playing with Legos. The 6yr old mainly plays with them and her little sister "follows along". We have several of the creator line of houses that they enjoy along with a ton of the minifigs. I bought this set as I thought they would like to have a restaurant for their little people to visit and the bus would add some change of pace to their Lego playtime. I had the set built in around 45 minutes. The bus took longest to build, but was still simple enough to get together. The best part about this set so far, is that my oldest one decided to follow the instructions and build the bus shelter herself and she now wants to build the other buildings herself (this was previously my role -- I build them, they decorate and expand on them and then play with them). Nice set, lots of useful pieces for when we decide to deviate from the instructions and build our own creations. I with Lego would offer more kits in line with this one and not so much police/fire sets as my girls don't much care for them -- they like the houses and now the pizza shop.
