5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Prehistoric Projects, January 11, 2007
This review is from: LEGO Prehistoric Power (Toy)
This was our five-year old's favorite Christmas gift. He hasn't stopped playing with it yet. It took some time, but the directions were clear enough that he could build all 8 models without help. A super creative set for a great price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lego 4892 Prehistoric animals, April 19, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Prehistoric Power (Toy)
This Lego set provides specialty bricks, joints and two easy to read instruction booklets to build the following 8 prehistoric animals:
1. woolly mammoth
2. triceratops
3. parasarolophus
4. tyrannosaurus rex
5. stegosaurus
6. pteranodon
7. velociraptor
8. brachiosaurus
You can't build all of them at once with the bricks provided, but if you do mix up your Lego sets as I do you could build more than one model using the instruction booklets. And also to scale up the smaller models. The brick colors are mainly red. The instructions given will provide you ideas to build other animal models. If you are into prehistoric animals and Lego, I would recommend this set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, a little pricey, August 6, 2009

I purchased the LEGO CREATOR Prehistoric Power for my 8 year old son. He enjoys it a lot - has created 2 or 3 different creatures from the set in the last month. Has lost interest a little, but I am sure he will return to it and new creations as time passes. In retrospect, probably would have waited for the set to go down in price, as LEGO sets do after a certain amount of time after initial release. The box contains 380 pieces which sounds like a lot, but really isn't enough to pay anywhere near $[...]. Overall, great toy, though.

I bought this set for my girlfriend who is a self proclaimed Lego Maniac. I'm not really sure what to say about this product other than that it looks great and was fun to put together. The instructions were easy to read and the construction mostly straight forward (not so much though that you could do this yourself without instructions!). The model itself was quite durable and survived a move without falling apart.

In general, I would recommend the Creator series (which seems to have non-branded ideas, which is nice) and this set in particular as great Lego products.

My son does not usually like to play with the things he builds with his Lego sets. He just wants to build them. This is the best way for him to do that. It has directions for 8 different dinosaurs and then picture ideas for several more. What a great idea!
