Supply and demand... There are people who are apparently willing to pay a premium because the supply appears to be limited. If you don't want to pay more, don't. If no one does, then the price will fall. Econ 101.
They are made with tiny blocks. Not really any arms or legs....they are just square blocks.
It isn't too difficult as in following the instructions, but putting together this many tiny pieces (and finding the pieces) takes a LOT of patience. I got it for my son, who was 8 at the time, and he gave up on it pretty quick. Though all kids are different.
Is this set too young for an avid minecraft or lego playing grandson who enjoys playing both? Or - is there another one you would recommend... tks. Dec 10, 2014
My son is 7 and it was fun for him. He loves Minecraft but usually don´t like to play with Lego. So... it´s a fun gift.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson for his birthday and he had no problem following the directions. He had it built in less than a day! Of course he had built other LEGO products prior to this but I don't think 5 is to young to manage this. Hope this helps
