First off this set is priced retail at $50 and is really nice but not worth more than $50. I bought mine from the Lego store in the mall on my way home from work. They told me these are flying off the shelf so get it while you can. The mini figures are awesome and super detailed and come with a really cool stand to display them. The car itself is really detailed and thankfully looks just like the ECTO-1 from the movie. Only part thats a little disaponiting is the fact that only 3 mini figs can fit in the car at once. Its really not a big deal but it is something to know before you buy it. This set comes with a really nice book that has some nice history about the movie and will go well if you want to display it. Take your time building the car because its a really fun build with alot of small pieces. Bottom line great set, nice price and really fun build with AWESOME mini figures. This should be displayed for all to see. AWESOME LEGO SET :)

This is a great set for fifty dollars. While Lego could have done a cash grab and just released the Ecto-1, with the mini figs on their own, they give you everything in this complete set.

The mini figs have great personality and you can tell who character is based off expressions alone. they come with proton packs, and even have their name on their suits. Each mini fig has a regular smirk/happy expression, along with a shocked/scared expression on the other side of each mini fig head. The car is detailed, with lots of true details--even the license plate. It's ridiculously cute, fun, and not too awfully difficult or time consuming. It would be fun to build with the kids while watching the film on the 30th anniversary.

It has just over 500 pieces, so you're paying just about 10 cents a piece, which is about average for a Lego licensed set. This is also available at Lego stores, so if you are a VIP at Lego (it's their rewards program), it's the same price there and you can get your points. It's also available at the Lego online store, but amazon does have the benefit of fast shipping (especially since it is Prime eligble).

I hope this encourages Lego to do more Ghostbusters sets--I'd love to see a Slimer figure or Stay Puft set.

Great, well thought out set that will appeal to your inner child and remind you of the old days of running around your backyard with your proton pack, catching ghosts! I think its awesome that Lego is making (yes with the assistance of everyday folks who made the initial design) these sets.

The one negative....people trying to charge $70+ for a set. Don't overpay and feed their greed. Wait until Amazon is selling it for $50 or get it on the Lego Store site.

This is an excellent Lego set. There are a handful of sets that are both fun to build and beautiful to display, and this is definately one of those sets. You get all 4 of the Ghostbusters from the iconic film, complete with their own uniform and each one gets a proton pack. The proton pack design is very creative, using some really cool pieces to make them look authentic. They also threw in a couple walkie talkies and a brick built ghost trap. The figures are displayed on a nice little stand that you build complete with the ghostbusters logo. This is mainly because their proton packs are so heavy, it is difficult to get them to stand up on their own without adjusting their angles a little bit.

Ecto-1 uses a lot of SNOT techniques and in the end, it creates a car model that has very similiar curves to the actual car. The techniques used are both creative and simple, but very effective. The finished car can only hold 3 of the minifigures, but this keeps the scale of the vehicle pretty close to your other lego vehicles. The wheels use a pretty cool method of creatingt he silver hubcaps and teh whitewalls for the tire. The roof, of course, is completely detailed.

The best part about this set is ZERO stickers. The license plates, Ghostbusters logo pieces, and proton pack instrument clusters are all printed bricks. If I had to pick out a negative on this set, I would say that the roof gadgets ar e a little fragile for play purposes, but it's not a concern if you are displaying the set only. Also, even though it has over 500 pieces, they are mostly small pieces, but you do get lots of great parts in unique color schemes, such as the mutlitude of chrome pieces in the4 set.

If you are thinking that you would like this set even a little, do not hesitate.

When it comes to pop culture and influence the 80's was an awesome decade.
I would have begged my parents for this set if it came out when I was a kid, now 30 years later and I can get my own! However, I see that the set is already overpriced here by 2nd hand dealers. May as well get it at the lego store or the lego website, before it sells out.

This has to be one of the best Lego sets I have come across, maybe ever. First off I grew up watching the Ghostbusters movie and would have killed for this set as a kid, but as an adult I can truly appreciate this set for what it really is. It is highly detailed collectors Lego set every Ghostbusters fan needs to own.
Even the box for this set is perfect. The lid flips open like a pizza box allowing you to have a place to store your pieces as you build this set. This also gives you a reason to keep the box around after your set is built. I buy a lot of different Lego sets to do with my kids and I see the value of saving boxes for resell value in the future, but it is just too hard with most sets because they serve no purpose after the set is built.
The instruction booklet is highly detailed and gives a brief intro to the Ghostbusters for younger fans that maybe haven't experienced the original movies. It also gives details on how this set was designed and approved by Lego to be built. The Lego characters are also highly detailed giving two faces to the classic heroes. A display stand can be built to have the figures show off their good looks while using their proton packs. Finally the car tops this set off in a big way. Building it was so fun and brought me back to my younger days of watching this movie. The only downside I could find was the lack of inside seating for all four heroes. Three fit, but I had to lay down the fourth, in the back of vehicle for my son in order to fit them all in. Maybe this could have been a little bigger.
This is a must own for any fan of Ghostbusters, and lovers of all things Lego.
