I purchased this clock so my kid (3, now 4) could tell when it was late enough to leave his room in the morning. We don't need an alarm function now, though it would be nice to have the option when the kid doesn't get up before sunrise...

The way the clock works is that you have to select an alarm time, and the alarm is then set by pushing one of the buttons on the top of the clock, instead of flipping a switch underneath. So if my kid touches/plays with the clock at all, he will inevitably turn on the alarm function inadvertently. The alarm sound is a loud unpleasant beep, which lasts for a long time. Then we hear an incessant beeping from his room, which is just plain unwelcome. I wish it was designed differently.

We love our Lego alarm clock. Not sure why the other reviewer had a hard time with setting the time and alarm, but it was just as easy as setting any other alarm clock. Ours works perfectly, and my boys really enjoy it(they're ages 5 & 7). The only thing I wish it had was a backlight that stayed on. It is backlit when you are setting the time or alarm, but it turns of shortly after and you are unable to see the time at night. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

As a clock it works perfectly. Battery operation was why I chose this because it is unaffected by power outages. Display is nice as it always shows time and alarm setting. I prefer this to my own Timex "adult" alarm clock because you do not have to switch to the alarm setting mode to see the current alarm time setting. Seeing everything at a glance is great.

The alarm beep itself is loud and progressively increases from "beep-beep...pause...beep-beep" to a constant "beep-beep-beep..." if you don't turn it off after about 20 seconds. It does, however, stop beeping after one minute if you do not turn it off. I suppose this is good for neighbors if you accidentally set and leave the alarm when not home. But my kid has actually slept through the entire one minute alarm cycle.

It is a bit larger than necessary for its function. But I realize this is actually a "10X" item that could connect with other similarly scaled pieces. We do not have any other "10X" size Lego items and do not plan to get any so this is really irrelevant unless you have or plan to get some other giant brick items to connect it to.

This would have earned more stars if I could have plugged it into my wall instead of using batteries as its sole method of powering. Good size, easy to use.

Kids are lego crazy so thought this would be good. no cord, only runs on batteries. Easy on off for alarm, but setting time and alarm was tedious as button had difficulty connecting...wouldn't buy it again.

bought this for my son to start getting up on his own. There is only one button on the top and it's to turn the alarm on or off. There is no snooze and you have to hit the button to reset the alarm for the next day. Not too loud and it's just an annoying buzz that my son can ignore. There's a back light that only works if you lift it up and hit the button on the bottom of the clock and it stays on for only a minute, so you can't see the time in the dark.

Nice lego clock but you can only see the lcd display when you are looking directly in front of it. Kinda hard to see what time it is if you are standing up or looking at an angle. The alarm on/off button is also pretty dodgy.

The clock was cute but alarm portion was useless. The alarm only rang for 1 minute and did not repeat so if your child sleeps through the first minute you cannot use it

So normally I never write a review about a product I didn't buy from Amazon (bought this at Legoland).. however, when I saw this clock, an automatic convulsive response occurred.. I couldn't stop my self from typing.. this.. review.. In short - I despise this clock. Aside the fact it looks like a lego brick - it has almost no features to speak of (snooze is about it), and once you set the alarm - it goes on.. and on.. and on.. had the darn thing for over six months now and I have yet to figure out how to easily switch off the alarm without the kids rearming the device. There was only one solution.. battery removal (only because I couldn't find an Exorcist that did house calls). I'm sure there is someone out there who will disagree and love this clock.. but my theory is that they've been brainwashed by the evil electronics inside (no, really..).
