This is a fantastic beginning lego set. Tons of bricks, several mini-figs, trees, doors, windows, wheels, and just a good assortment. A little pricey, but compared to a lot of other sets, I think this is a good deal for the price. I would recommend adding a large base plate for building, but other than that, this is a great set.

Finally, a lego set bigger than 20 pieces! This is such a great selection of shapes, sizes, and colors. My 3 and 6 year old sons get totally involved in independent and joint projects all the time. I wish it we're quite so expensive, but it seems this is the cost for a thorough set of legos...

Very happy to have found a lego set that lets the imagination do the building instead of just something specific to build. My son is six and loves this set, lots and lots of pieces. Good buy to have a huge set to play with by self or with alot of friends.

lego is expensive. and this box has 1695 pieces so it is very expensive. but i'm really really glad i bought it. what makes this box so cool is the fantastic selection of "specialty" pieces that it includes. 4 sets of wheels and tires, trees, flowers, windows, doors, handles, windshields, steering wheels, many translucent pieces, five (i think) people, lamp posts (non-working), pieces with eyes and mouths (both smiling and frowning), chains, ladders, poles, a trailer hitch, even a pair of jet engines! there are even pieces i haven't figured out what to do with yet! and it all comes in a big blue plastic box.

if you're looking to jump-start a lego collection or greatly enhance an existing one, and you can tolerate the price of this box, i highly recommend it.

the house was quite so I figured the kids were doing some unauthorized t.v.
watching. I went to stop them, but they weren't there! Where could they be?
I got worried and ran to the back of the house. I almost tripped over them on the way to the back Door! There they were, quietly building an empire. No auguring or whining or t.v. watching. I'm still in shock!

My 8 year old daughter really likes this set, her first lego set. There are a good selection of different pieces (characters, clear plastic, ropes, fences, flowers, car pieces). I got her the large base plates which she likes to build on. They are not necessary though, as the set comes with small small green ones.

The set seems to be a good value for the money, as it can be expensive buying all the little sets. My daughter plays with it for hours at a time.

It would have been nice to have a booklet with sample creations.

This is a large set that makes so many things and the price is cheap compared to what a "pre-designed" set costs. My 11 year old son asked for only one thing from Santa this year and that was the Lego Death Star Santa brought that and his sister gave him this... which one has he played with more? THIS SET! great for imaginative play! it's better than 4 of the smaller $20.00 buckets and has more pieces.

I think it was a great deal for over 1600 legos. My family and I spend hours of fun enjoying them! The only thing that was missing was building instructions. I would recommend this product to other families or classrooms.

Love this set! The possibilities are endless. Over the holidays we had 6 children of various ages using it at once and there were no fights! There are enough nesscessary and interesting pieces for everyone.

This Lego set has kept my kids busy for hours! There are so many legos! There are vehicles, people, buildings and many more ideas to be made...that was important to my girls. My girls (7&10) love anything little and creative, and this was the answer.
