Adventure in the desert for a budding Indiana Jones/Egyptologist, this LEGO set can provide hours of play. First, the complex set (253 pieces) has to be assembled, and then it can be played with. There are dozens of specialized parts (a tiny map and magnifying glass, a grinning mummy figurine complete with sarcophagus, etc.), and some of the pieces are rigged to move when assembled (toppling pillars, launching mummy spear--even a palm-frond escape helicopter). The included instruction booklet (no reading required) is printed to look like a lost treasure map, and the pages are filled with hieroglyphics-like steps that show just how to assemble. On the back cover, you'll find photographs that show some of many alternative configurations that are possible with the set, so it can be built and rebuilt to accommodate different play scenarios.
