4.0 out of 5 stars For the lego lover!
Bought 2 at Christmas for our 2 Lego obsessed children. True, the "low" setting is a bit brighter than some would like but the kids don't mind and love to have their own clocks. They tell everyone it is their "favorite" Christmas gift so it was a big hit. So far no problems with durability after 2 months of use. I'd purchase it again. I thought it was strange that a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy!
We bought this as our four-year old's first clock - thought it would be perfect since he and his brother love all things Lego. But then we plugged it in.
The back-light on the numbers was so bright he couldn't sleep, even on the low-light setting. It lit up his whole room. And after just one day, the switch to turn the back-light on or off broke. You can't see...

You can't see the time when the radio is on - it only displays the radio station until you turn the radio off. It claims to be a digital turner, however we had to tune everything a few tenths away from the actual station number in order to get a decent signal. (For instance, to get the station on 101.1, you had to tune to 101.5.)
Needless to say, we returned it and do not recommend anyone buy it!

I thought it was strange that a reviewer complained the clock was made of plastic - LEGOS are not made of metal or wood, they are made out of PLASTIC.

My son loves this alarm clock. It is, however, an awful radio. You cannot get a good station without a ton of static. I did everything I could to get it to work ok, and it won't. But, my son loves it anyway. It's mostly decorative. He likes the bright light as it's a sort of night-light for him. Overall, I'd say, "Meh."

This is a really cool clock that looks like a giant Lego. The nobs on the top are acutally functional (I didn't know this when I bought it). One is the radio tuner and the other is the snooze button. My son really likes his clock. It has a radio also and he listens to music while he falls asleep which is something he never did before getting this clock for Christmas. It seems durable and works great. We are happy with it.

Our son got one of these super Lego clock radios for his birthday. His younger cousin is also a fan, so we got him one for HIS birthday. The highlights ? It is a GIANT Lego brick with a built in clock radio. It also stacks just like the real thing if you are luck enough to own the Lego brick CD player. The downside ? it can be a little hard to read in the middle of the night. But all in all, our kiddo loves this thing. Recommended, especially when going hand in hand with the companion CD player !

This is a great clock for little guys and my 6 yr old loves his! He is a huge Lego fan and we bought this for his birthday. He thought it was so nifty that it was shaped like a Lego brick. He is learning to tell time and checks the time on his clock quite a bit. He is a "gadget sort of kid" so he has messed with all of the buttons and everything functions well. The radio gets good reception and we have gotten several stations. There is a backlit button so the child can see the time at night. It is just the right amount of light, not too bright. With it on, the room is still dark and it lights up only the top of the chest of drawers where it is placed. The button can be turned off too, if your child prefers no light, at all. Overall, I think this clock is so cool & am keeping it in mind for a birthday gift for his best buddy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't see the time when the radio is on, August 4, 2010
This review is from: LEGO Alarm Clock Radio - Blue (Toy)
Our only complaint so far is that you only see the radio station numbers, and not the time, while the radio is on. Trying to explain to a 5 year old, "In 30 minutes the radio will go to sleep." instead of "At 7:30 the radio will go to sleep." is a little complicated.

Cute & fun design. Clock & alarm work well, radio, however, leaves something to be desired because the internal antenna is not strong enough to clearly tune in stations unless you are very near to them & their antennas. Only recommend if you are not counting on using the radio.

It's true that the product presentation could be improved, since it is completely plastic. Although the light from the screen itself is very glowing at night, you can turn it off. Also It has specific buttons to change the date and time.

Powered by electricity or batteries. On the quality of the radio wave, functions like any other radio. You probably will need to move the antenna a little to get the best reception, and not always you will listen it at the original frequency. (Eg In my house I need to tune the frecuency 101.1 instead of 100.9 which is the real station).

It has 2 knobs that simulate the edges of a Lego brick, which function to control the volume and tune into the station. Also, if you press the volume button, besides the snooze function for alarm, the screen lights up momentarily to see the time at night if the screen is always off.

I have already 2 weeks and I'm satisfied with my purchase. It is true that for $ 30.00 could buy something better, but this is not as bad as some other persons have said

This is a durable clock which i use in my blue bathroom. I love Lego! It is as durable and compact as those Lego pieces. Large numbers on the face you can read in the dark makes a nice nightlight effect. The reception is good for playing the radio. I know this because of the tornado threat and having to hide in the bathroom of my 3rd fl apt. It kept me company. The dials are easy to work and they make sense as far as convenience. Good bargain its made like products used to be made many years ago.
