3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better October 26, 2009
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
My 9 year old son loves this series and had a great time with the Empire State Building and the Sears Tower. This item was disappointing (more for me than him) because it was so unlike the building. The historical description of the building included in the set talks about it's beautiful taper etc, and the entire kit is rectangles and squares with no angles at all! It could've been a beautiful model and instead looks like a poor-mans Sears Tower. It is nothing like the Hancock, which is too bad, since it is such an incredible building. With such few offerings in the set, there should have been more care in the design of this one.

If you're going to buy just one of these, go for the Sears Tower or Empire State.

2.0 out of 5 stars Overall not worth it... August 13, 2009

This review will be very similar to my one for the Sears Tower, but much of it applies to this set as well. Like the other smaller Architecture sets, this set is simply overpriced, in my opinion. For the price you pay, you're not getting too many pieces. In addition, most of the pieces you get the average Lego builder/collector will likely have laying around at home. It's very easy then to simply build this from your own collection. The instruction booklet is nice though, with color photos and a bit of history about the building. Overall though it's not worth the price due to the small scale and the ability to build it from your own collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the budding architect in your life March 28, 2013
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Or for the grown one. I have the architect boyfriend who loves building these (this one he put together in about 2 hours and has it displayed with his others). He enjoyed the book and the building (his destressor away from the kids). I also have my son who has been taking architecural CAD in high school. He loves Legos anyways and getting this for him brings the two interests together although he groans when I display his final product. I think he wants to tear it down and rebuild still. Happy with the product.

4.0 out of 5 stars cool but simple
I really like the more adult lego sets. Not as challenging to build as I had hoped for, but I still think these are pretty cool. Read more
