The sight of the black box (and the price) ought to tell any adult that this isn't really a toy for kids. With only 240 pieces it's obviously easy to build and once completed I don't expect to take mine apart.

Raymond Hood's masterpiece unfortunately gets reduced to a 3.75 by 4 inch oblong and only 5.4 inches high. Because of this I've given the model four stars, it really should have been a bit larger, say by half as much again. I don't think the other buildings in the series are in the same proportion either.

As another reviewer says, it doesn't look like Lego because none of the round studs are visible when it's completed. The black base with the ochre buildings and grey sidewalks work well, oddly I had two small pieces missing but calling the toll-free number sorted that out and they arrived soon enough, free, too. The sixty page instruction booklet has thirteen of them devoted to the history and building of the Center.

I like my model, a super reminder of one of the world's great architectural achievements...if only it was a bit larger.

I've been a lifelong LEGO fan, as have many men my age (25), but there came a point where it was no longer acceptable to be displaying my Star Wars models on my desk at work. The architecture series has revitalized my sheer joy of LEGO construction by providing me both the joy of building a set, coupled with the pride of showing it off. While the price is a little steep (welcome to the world of LEGO), for such a small and simple set (it only stands about 5 inches tall), the excellent quality and classic design of the set are well worth it. It even provides interesting facts in the instruction book, expanding the experience and tricking you into learning while you play.

I have this set placed proudly on my desk at work, and my coworkers are often surprised to learn it is a LEGO set at all. Although we may outgrow sitting cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by heaps of LEGOs, this set is an excellent buy for anyone looking to reclaim a small part of their youth.

The set is, however, not exactly durable, as one direct hit with a Nerf basketball sent me scrambling for pieces. The set is not meant to be played with, so much as displayed.

All-in-all, the set may not have the same value as your typical children's toy, but the differences provide new and unique offerings that you may not have thought about when you heard the name LEGO.

I received this set as a Christmas gift, and was definitely not disappointed. For me, the cool part about this set was watching the art deco elements of Rockefeller Center emerge from basic lego blocks. A nuanced block here and there completed the vision. It's also the perfect size for my desk at work. Nice work, Lego. I look forward to watching this series unfold.

This Architecture set from Lego is easy to build, very portable, and a nice piece for any architects on your gift list.

At 240 pieces, this is a small set---about 4x4 inches on the base when assembled. This makes it quite portable for "show-and-tell" at a child's school, or for taking to the office for display on your desk. It's a pretty sturdy build, so no worries about small pieces breaking off in transit or in play. It's an easy set to assemble, should take less than 30 minutes even for a novice builder.

NOTE: there are not any "specialty" pieces in this set (aside from the printed flats that say Rockefeller Center). So those of you with extensive collections could build this easily from your existing Lego pieces. The instructions can be downloaded from Lego.com for free.

Typical of the Lego Architecture line, the Rockefeller Center does not disappoint. It is in a small scale and has just over 200 parts, so it is a quick and easy build. You do not have to be a "fan" of the architecture line to enjoy any of the kits, but I have noticed that younger children may find them to be a bit much. I am hooked and there is no way out. I will own all of the kits, one kit at a time. Enjoy and play well.

The model is very small and doesn't seem worth the price for it. But it is unique and worth it for someone who likes Legos and rockefellar center

My sons receive LEGO every Christmas and now that they are young adults, together they enjoy assembling one from the series of the LEGO architecture. It's become a Christmas tradition.
Product lives up to the LEGO reputation both in quality and entertainment value.
