I was very surprised by how innovative the B-Wing fighter ship was by Lego. Its cockpit continuously revolves around the ship. The wings can be left folded down for a travel mode or expanded for combat mode. I think this is the best designed Star Wars Lego ship available. The Rebel Control center included is innovative. It includes a sliding door panel and a large display of the Death Star. Not a plus for those who want to buy a squadron of B-Wing fighters, but it still adds to the set.

This ship is very large compared to the price of it. It also icludes the control center of course, but it isn't as cool, and I don't play with it much. To my surprise, the whole ship-rotating-around-the-cockpit thing works near perfectly. One of the more fun Legos to build, I highly recommend this.

The BWing is a good choice to add to your Lego SW collection. The model is fairly easy to build. The BWing itself is moderately boring to play with however. There is one hatch and the wings obviously open up and the pilots module rotates. It can easily be displayed (I believe another reviewer begs to differ) The real fun I believe is in the Control Centre. Now this is fun! It includes sliding doors, a map of the Death Star orbiting Endor,a swivel chair and movable control pad. The red R2-D2 is a brillant addition as I now have many Blue R2-D2s. The only useless addition is the thingy-tool cart (What is It?) Worth the money for the Rebel Control Centre.

Although Lego has shown a tendency to skimp on pieces in these Star Wars sets (to make them more affordable, I would guess, and to off-set the expense of all the new pieces that they include), the B-wing set is not a disappointment. Clever rotating cockpit with unique pilot figure, storage compartment, and articulating wings are good features, and the Rebel Control Center makes this a great set for kids with a limited collection. It is not just a bunch of random pieces; it really increases the playability. R2-style robot and technician are neat touches too. Anyone who complains that the kit isn't true to scale is missing the point; it is a little small, but all these mini-fig sets are toys, not models!

This ship is very cool. It has the gyro thing so the cockpit stays in place. The wings fold up and down and it can be displayed easily. It's packed with weapons and even has a little hatch and a cool tool cart. The Control Center is cool too. It has sliding doors, a swiveling chair and stuff like that.

The B-Wing fighter was a natural edition to Lego's Star Wars line but unfortunately the finished product is a bit under-whelming when compared to the other choices. It is one of the most expensive of the 2nd line sets and in my opinion most of the cost is probably dedicated to the "Rebel Control Center" portion of the set. The ship itself is good enough looking with the wings in attack position and the rotating cockpit is a nice tribute to the old Kenner line product. That said however the design is uncharacteristically fragile and I can't even imagine that this toy would hold up under much play. Furthermore, since the only way to display the B-Wing without suspending it from something is with it's wings closed, where it looks like nothing more than a few flat panels stacked atop one another, it fails in that aspect too. The most pleasant surprise of this set is the Rebel Control Center. While the extras that come with most of the sets seem to have the feel of spare parts useful in building alternative designs the Control Center is actually a neat play set with a few clever goodies like the sliding door assembly. If the B-Wing was your favorite ship from the Star Wars trilogy then go ahead... otherwise consider the less costly and better designed A-Wing set or the excellent Slave 1 adaptation.

I bought this set because it was the most eye catching of the price range. I wasn't disappointed. The spinning cockpit and control center kept me busy for hours, running around the house taking over enemy bases, answering distress calls, and exploring the outer limits of my room. I especially loved the way the doors of the control center slid open (first time I have seen anything like this). I also liked the fact that I got a generic pilot, 2 control men, and a red R2 unit. The sliding train thingy had some different features than the one available with the X-Wing (the buzz-saw arm for instance), and with a little work and imagination, I combined the two to make a deluxe version with tons of tools. However, the wings on the B-Wing were a little floppy when in the "battle" position (they weren't terrible, but not the best they could've been). Also I would have liked if the control center was one solid piece, but with more open space to play with. The way LEGO designed it, the play area was small when closed. And out of personal preference for the look of the ship, I changed it to one of the designs in the back of the instruction booklet. All in all, I feel that this set was a great buy for the money considering the large number of options it came with.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and wanted to buy more Star Wars Lego sets. ...It is terrific, and it goes great with other Lego Rebel ships. The figures included are fantastic : a generic unnamed pilot figure in red suit and helmet with visor. Then there is a red R2-D2 named R5-D4, same as the one with the Y-Wing. Last of all there is a mechanic with a mustache, who is just as good as the pilot. The ship itself is excellent, with impressive details. The cockpit turns which ever way the ship turns, to keep the pilot in place. There is an engine compartment and strike foils that swing up for combat and fold down for flight and landing. It also has special Rebel Alliance markings, and three laser cannons: two on the strike foils(or wings), and one underneath the fuselage. The Rebel Control Center included is very well made. It includes the very cool sliding door contraption, a control panel, a swivel chair, and a display of the Death Star orbiting the forest moon of Endor. Then there is a sliding tool train that is sorta like the one with the X-Wing, but this one has two carts. The first has this buzz-saw arm thing, and the second has a rack of tools(Man, I have countless amounts of Lego tools). I think this train is cool. Plus, the mechanic rides on it. All in all I thought this was an excellent set and well worth the money for the neat figures, the swing-cockpit, and the Control Center.

We loved this so much, we decided to suspend it from the ceiling. It was fun to put together and its really great to be able to assemble all one's lego star wars vehicles together. You can really appreciate the detail and variety when one does so.
