The batmobile is beautiful. Lots of pieces in the set, not too many of the lame 'special' pieces (not nearly as bad as the harry potter kits). I particularly liked how they did the wheel logos - they printed a bat symbol on an old satellite dish from the old spaceship sets. And there's plenty of other stuff you can build with this kit, as long as it's black.

But, the black pieces are the big drawback - the instruction manual doesn't print the bumps on black bricks well at all. It is very hard to tell exactly what piece is in the manual, making it much harder to build the pictured car. Still, any kid or collector should be very pleased with this set.

This kit is great. Took only about 4 hours to put together. Pictures in the guide books a re difficult to make out clearly since most of the drawings are in black. Needed to look very closely under a good lamp to find where each peice had to be placed.
The finished Batmobile looks wonderful. Lots of detailed workings inside (under "the hood"): front turbines that turn with front wheels, rear exhaust flames that turn with rear wheels, and front nose opens up with a turn of the steering wheel.
Would have liked an Batman figure to be included in kit and perhaps better drawn instructions.
Overall, pleased with building experience and finished product.

I bought this kit because I not only love Lego's but Batman as well. This car not only has a lot of nice touches, it looks sharp in my office. It is the subject of lots of conversations. It tood a while to put together as the parts come in various bags, which are not numbered. It's a game of fishing to find the right pieces. This is unlike my Ferrari F1 kit which had numbered bags and the instructions told you which bag to use during the construction process. However, this does not diminish the fun of building this kit and it comes out as a real prize and a great looking piece that will educate children in the process of mechanical function.

My 6 year-old son and I tackled this project over a series of days. The finished product is truly a work of art and, in my opinion, looks better than any of the pictures.

Pros: Outstanding detail, including working turbines in the engine that you can see from above. Feels solid when complete and as it rolls. (Most Lego kits my son has fall apart at some point. Not this one.) Cool flip up front with a turn of the steering wheel.

Cons (and these are minor): Unfortunately, the steering does not turn the actual wheels. No cool Lego Batman to sit in the seat. The instructions can be tough to follow since almost 90% of this kit is BLACK! (We had a few times where we had to redo a past section because we installed it improperly.) The flames on the back are very fragile and fall off easily. Another quibble...its an original design and doesn't look like any of the Batmobiles you have seen in movies or TV.

If you have the patience (its 1,045 pieces, two instruction books and 85 steps) and are a Batman fan, this kit is a lot of fun and looks great when complete. Well done, Lego!

Lego Batman 7784 The Batmobile Ultimate Collectors' Edition
I never regret buying this. I am a fan of Batman Mobile and LEGO, so this is a match made in Heaven. I fell in love with this work of art ever since I read it on STUFF magazine in 2007 and immediately set-off to a hunt for it. I just can't wait for LEGO to issue the UCS Batmobile Tumbler. I have so much fun putting this together. The attention to detail are excellent and the quality is a common high standard among LEGO's products. Every Batman fan should get this.

I think it's too sad that children nor many parents can't afford to purchase these sets because of the collectors (living in their parent's basement) have jacked up the price. I don't think this is what the TOY was intended for.

It is tough to find the right pieces, but that is part of the fun!
I loved the special details; like the driver's seat, the engine that moves when the wheels move; the front part that opens upwards, and the bat wings. I also think that a batman figure should come with it.
It is a big piece, that is worth displaying.
My nephews sometimes like to play with it, and it stays fit

Just completed this set with my kids. Took about 6 hours of time. Really a great set, with some cool features. My son especially liked the flipping front section. Highly recommended.

i'd say once you got the floorboard together this thing was built like it was ment to stay together. i can say this: i bought this set as a display model and took it all apart before building it back again. it took my brother and mother and I a good hour to take it all apart.

the piece is a piece of craftmanship like most lego models. it is a replica of the Michael Keaton batmobile and is HUGE, bigger then the minifigures so don't think you are going to get any with it.

there is one minor drawback and a few of the others hit it on the head. black on black is very hard to see in the book. and if you have only one (not so good) eye to see out of it makes it that much harder. with some good light and a magnifying glass it will make it through alright just like any other lego set

I loved putting this thing together, it didn't take very long, I was able to finish it in under 2 days(between studying for finals) but it fun throughout the process. The directions could be a little more clear, but half the fun was just trying to figure out what the hell i was supposed to do with this piece, and realizing 15 minutes later that i somehow skipped an entire page. I don't know how well this would work for actually "playing" with it, but it'll look awesome on a shelf in my room
