5.0 out of 5 stars Endless Fun!
This game rocks! The first night of playing, I think I played through my bedtime. I was too into the game and didn't realize I had to wake up for work in the next few hours!

I'm not much of a gamer and thought maybe this game wouldn't work for me since I'm a 37 year old man but who knew?? This game is great for all ages!

Pros:
- Endless...

2.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Fun but also lots of Problems
I bought this because I love Batman and I loved the Lego Star Wars games, so I thought I couldn't go wrong. What I should have done is spent the extra money for the xbox copy. The PC version is so full of bugs, it even prevents me from completing some levels. They should have done more testing on this version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Endless Fun!, September 25, 2008

This game rocks! The first night of playing, I think I played through my bedtime. I was too into the game and didn't realize I had to wake up for work in the next few hours!

I'm not much of a gamer and thought maybe this game wouldn't work for me since I'm a 37 year old man but who knew?? This game is great for all ages!

Pros:
- Endless replayability
- You can play as a hero or a villain
- Endless use of gadgets
- Huge city!
- It's funny how the characters interact with each other. A lot of personality.

Cons:
- Being that I'm not a gamer, it took me a while to know where to configure the keyboard to control the characters
- End up playing this game all night long and not realizing you'll have work the next day

4.0 out of 5 stars Here we go again..., October 30, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Batman (Video Game)
You'd figure that with two Lego Star Wars games and Lego Indiana Jones already under their belts, Travelers Tales' Lego games would be getting kind of stale. Well, you'd figure wrong. Lego Batman features everything that was enjoyable with the aforementioned games, and slaps the Batman license on it to boot. Playing as the Caped Crusader and his sidekick Robin, you traverse a Lego-fied Gotham City and take on the usual rogues gallery of baddies. Fans of the Batman comics will be happy to see plenty of familiar faces: Joker, Nightwing, Batgirl, Hush, Bane, and plenty more are all here for your amusement. If you've played any of the previous Lego-based games, you should already know what to expect here, as Lego Batman offers up plenty of funny and comical moments supplemented with tons of unlockables and bonus characters to boot. The game looks good and even offers Danny Elfman's classic Batman theme, rounding out the presentation. The only downsides to Lego Batman are the same flaws that were apparent in previous Lego games: the difficulty is simple to say the least, and the game isn't that long at all. Still, with the hordes of unlockables to find that will hold your attention and keep you playing for a while. All in all, Lego Batman is a fun and family friendly diversion that anyone can enjoy and easily pick up and play.

It crashed alot so you should probaly get it on a diffrent system. The game itself is fun and is not easy but not hard.Makes for a challenge. There are lots of power suits for batman and robin. You can play as the bad guys, and some have guns! the envirments were dark and scary, and while it makes since since he is the dark knight it was a little surprising for Lego to do that. The game crashed every time I tried to do the two-face level.Good thing I rented it from my library for free.

[[ASIN:B0015Z1I0A LEGO Batman]

LEGO Batman takes you through chapters of action filled scenes. Fight villains, collect coins, recieve power ups, and buy things such as extras and suit upgrades. Earn your way past levels by destroying the villains, (including Two-Face, Poison Ivy, the Joker, etc.), or, play as the villains and find what you are looking for.

Each level provides endless entertainment, and a great adventure. This game is a must-have for anyone, and is a guarunteed hit. I advise anyone looking for a thrill to purchase this game.

This is an extremely fun game for any Lego-lover. My brother and I convinced our mom to let us buy it. We just love the lego games. They are so funny. There are so many characters to unlock/buy. Batman, Robin, all your favorite villians. I can't describe it all now, but I will just say that you won't regret buying this or any lego video games!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, But Buggy, November 9, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LEGO Batman (Video Game)
Lego Batman is a very fun game. It is probably the best in the "Lego(insert franchise here)" series. But, as usual, PC is the LAST priority for gaming publishers and it shows on this game.

While the other versions play near flawlessly, this game doesn't.

I can't knock it too much. After all, it's one of those few games for people with an older system to still be able to enjoy modern games instead of the same stuff released a while ago.

After all, it can run on a 1Ghz Pentium III with only 256MB of memory and a DVD drive. I have a computer like that in my basement. But, I ran this game on my new computer: A Core 2 Duo with 2GB of memory and a 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8000.

Yet still, a game that should run flawlessly on my system somehow....doesn't.

The game IS fun, and I have it beaten near 100%, but sometimes you need to adjust your graphical settings and make them LOWER in order to pass certain levels. Especially during the Penguin boss fight for the heroes.

I should be able to get sucked into a game, not to stop and pause to change my settings.

Also, the AI is dumber than dirt and 7/10 times the computer DAMPERS your progress instead of HELPING it. Isn't that the point of a partner? To HELP you instead of HARM you?

A couple words of advice:

-GET A CONTROLLER. The PC controls are horrible!

-GET A GUIDE. Half the time, you won't be able to figure it out unless you are directed.

-Keep your display at 800x600 and turn all graphical options off(Shadows, bloom, etc.) It runs faster like this and less bugs occur.

-If you can, GET A SECOND PERSON TO PLAY THIS WITH YOU. The computer is so DUMB,(especially during Free Play mode) that you NEED an actual PERSON to play. For example, when I change into a toxin-resistant character to pass a pile of poison, you expect your partner to file suit, right? WRONG! He just stands there running in circles like an idiot. True example. Happened to me on one of the Joker stages.

So, all in all, a great game. Great replay value, but a terrible translation of a sure fire winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars lots of fun, January 28, 2012

First, this game is lots of fun. The number of playable characters and free play make for lots of re-play fun, too. I got it to install and p;lay on my newer PC with Windows 7 Home Ultimate 64 bit and my clunky laptop with Windows XP. So, why only four stars overall? A long list of ways it could have been better. None of them are that major, but they ad up to a one-star deduction.

1) There's now way to save mid-way through a level. This is only a problem on story mode, but it's annoying when I only want to play for a few minutes. There are obvious points where saves could be built in.
2) The suit upgrades are glitchy. sometimes they work, sometimes not. Some on the Internet have tied this to characters (e.g., Batman instead of Batgirl), but I don't think so.
3) Another glitch--the keyboard controls are nothing like what I read in the instruction book. Memorizing the configuration menu (or customizing it) takes some effort, but not too much.
4) The keyboard also doesn't offer the best interface when the game is picky about taking an exact path. My basic controller seems to have plenty of buttons to play, but the configuration insists on filling up the options with an X-Box controller or similar. that's an issue for non-gamers like me, but not too bad.
5) I wish there were more obscure playable characters instead of some of the hencmen and similar "extras." For example, some characters from the Dam West series, more female characters (e.g., Talia Al Ghul, Batgirls other than Barbara Gordon, Oracle, Huntress, etc.). Most casual fans will be satisfied that the major characters are all available, but they could have done better.
