This review is from: LEGO Boombox - Green (Toy)
How did this piece of bad electrical engineering (if that's what you would call it) ever get to market? The first one we bought, the CD player worked ONCE, then never again. We took it back to Toy R Us and replaced it. Same thing a few months later: doesn't play CDs anymore. Besides that, the electrical design on the power electronics are atrocious. I'm an EE but haven't cracked it open yet to know for sure, but the subtle yet very audible buzzing coming from this things sounds like they didn't do a proper job of decoupling the mains transformer from the other electronics. This sounds like a fire hazard to me. Just what Lego needs: a bunch of kids burned to death in a late night house fire for leaving this death trap piece of crap plugged in over night. Yeah, it looks pretty. Ours sits there, a useless, buzzing, over-priced, oversized plastic Lego brick.
