A Great "Unofficial" Atlantis Lego Set, September 8, 2010
This review is from: LEGO Brickmaster: Atlantis (Hardcover)
I bought this "set" for my son who already has several Atlantis Lego sets. This is a great set. Here's why:
- Several unique (at least unqiue to us) pieces are in this set. This includes four different color crystals, and several unique pieces used on the sub.
- Instructions for seven different types of subs/drilling rigs, plus seven different corresponding Atlantean sea creatures. The book comes with five different sets of instructions, and you can download two others at [...]. This is a huge plus as my son really enjoys building one sub and sea creature, playing with them for a while, then taking it apart and buidling another one. The cycle repeats. It is almost like getting the 140+ pieces & 2 minifigures seven times over.
- A fun little story and fun facts that are a part of the book. We're teaching our son to read, so he has enjoyed having reading material that goes with his play time.
- The subs themselves are very creative. The first one we built has a detachable remote controlled mini-sub. What fun!
I have not seen this book available on the Lego website, which is a shame as this is a very fun set to have. The Amazon price is a good deal (I don't think the full retail price of $[...] is a good deal for what you get).

Great for imaginative play with the Lego Atlantis theme, September 20, 2010
This review is from: LEGO Brickmaster: Atlantis (Hardcover)
We used 3 of these sets at a Birthday party for my 9-yr old son who is currently enamored of the Atlantis theme of toys. They were a big hit.
.
Like other brick-sets, they allow the user to make multiple "toys" around, in this case, the Atlantis theme with the included parts and book/manual. The parts go well with the other Atlantis sets and encourage expansion and creativity. Mostly, wonderfully, they continue to encourage the imagination and cooperative play that makes Lego's a great toy/pastime for my son

Found cheaper at Costco, December 5, 2011
This review is from: LEGO Brickmaster: Atlantis (Hardcover)
This was a requested item on a family members Christmas list and I was planning on buying it here on Amazon until I stumbled across the same thing at Costco for $9.97 (half the price of Amazon's sale price). Costco doesn't tend to keep stuff like this in stock for long periods of time but if you happen to read this in the near future I would check them out first!
