HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!
on May 7, 2013
I just got this Lego brick box set of 704 pieces and the majority of them are extremely small specialty parts!
If you have small kids, they will easily swallow the majority of pieces because they are so damn small!
Even the plastic they are using now for these Lego pieces feel different than the Legos from just 8 to 12 years ago.
If you are looking for the 2X2, 2X3, 2X4, 2X6, and 2x8 bricks, don't waste your money or time with this set!
In the early and mid 2000's, Lego sold a 1,000 piece brick box set that had no specialty pieces in it and was great for building lots of different large things.
I bought numerous boxes over several years for only $20 per box at a brick and mortar store and this box was $50 on Amazon.
Sure, I know the cost of inflation takes part in the cost, but if you average 4% inflation every year from 2000, a $20 brick box of 1,000 pieces would only be $33.30 in 2013! Even if you made inflation at 10% every year, it would only be $69.05 for a 1,000 piece brick box set which would be well worth it compared to all the specialty piece Legos is putting in the brick boxes now!
If you want the good pieces to build large sturdy buildings and stuff, go directly to the Lego online site and order the pieces individually because it is going to be well worth the extra money to get the exact color, shapes, and sizes you want then to mess around with all the BS pieces Lego is now putting in all of these brick boxes to hype up the piece count in them to make them seem much better than they truly are!
I'm truly disappointed in Lego with their brick box sets now!
Here are the exact count for the large building brick pieces that you want:
That's only 27.84% of good solid building bricks!
That means that 508 pieces (72.16%) are stuff that is mainly for extremely special building projects.
Come on Lego, quick being cheap and sell true brick boxes of the good building bricks!
