This is a massive set. Massive! Carrying out of the Lego store was a bit of a chore, but my was it worth it! My wife and I picked this up at our nearest Lego store last weekend and had a blast building it together. Part of the Lego Modular Buildings, the building is designed more for its size and aesthetic appeal thn as a gimmick filled playset for kids, but I imagine anyone with a passion for Lego and enough of an attention span to build this will enjoy it. The set is quite huge, taking the title from the Haunted House as the largest Lego set I own. While there are lots of great reviews of this set out there, I'll give you some of my thoughts on this set.

The Facts:
# of Pieces: 2766
Minifigures: A Bride, Groom, Mayor, Press Photographer, Secretary, Janitor, male child, female child.

The Positives:

*Can I say the size of the set again? This thng is really, really large and solid. It takes quite some time to build (I worked on it for probably around 8-10 hours on and off)so if you enjoy building the setsm, you'll love this. It was a pretty fun build with some neat design work and some unusual building techniques from time to time.

*While some folks are commenting that the interior is rather bland, I was pretty pleased with it. The first floor has a business office with a computer and keyboard, lots of drawers, and a plant, a town hall with a podium and a town crest, a really nice tiled entryway, and a neat bust outside of the elevator.

*The second floor has the mayor's office with a reception area, balcony, wall paintings, and lamps. The third floor is a conference room with a table and plenty of seats.

This set is great as the other reviews have stated. It does cost more than the previous versions, but again like noted earlier it is MUCH larger than the other sets, including the emporium. I will add some photos to help give a size reference for those wondering, just look above. I also agree with buying it at lego. Amazon has been known for markups so bad that sometimes its cheaper to even use Ebay. I feel amazon should crack down on it, but these other companies are just trying to make ends meet as well, but adding $50 for nothing when available direct from the manufacture is sad.

Highly recommend this kit for anyone who likes to enjoy legos and the finished product is quite nice. I have the 3 previous kits and now this one on display in my place. It always draws attention when someone comes over for the first time, and not just kids, it also draws in the adults. Dusting them give me an excuse to play with them for a bit with my daughter who is quickly turning into a brick head. Toys like this provide hours of fun and bonding which is lacking in many households now a days. I like how she helps to find a 2x6 plate, or 2x2 tile, and knows what they are by name. I am eagerly awaiting the next modular building.

Verified Purchase
Item arrived very promptly, no issues there. Amazon outer carton was in excellent condition upon arrival, however once opened I found that the LEGO box was crushed on all four corners and was OPENED on both ends!! They didn't even bother tapping up the ends before putting it in the outer carton :( One of the clear bags inside the box containing LEGO pieces was ripped opened and the pieces mixed through the other bags. Until the set is made by the recipient of the gift I do not know if there are any missing parts? Very upset with the condition the LEGO box arrived in as this was meant to be a gift, I'm embarrassed of its presentation. Instruction manuals not damaged. This set is huge, will be great fun putting it together, and an excellent addition to the LEGO Creator series. Just disappointing to receive a "Brand New" item looking more like Seconds.

FYI if you're thinking to buy this set on Amazon, check the LEGO website first to see how much the retail price is. You will very likely overpay if you buy from a third-party seller.

I purchased this at my local LEGO brand store after waiting anxiously for this for a couple months. It is completely worth the wait and although it is more expensive than other modular buidings, I feel that the cost is justified. The building is massive (and I have the Fire Brigade and the Grand Emporium for comparison), it has EIGHT minifigures and the detail is just amazing.

At first glance, the Town Hall resembles the Fire Brigade. This is a fair observation but I think LEGO tried to provide a model that fit in with other environment of other modular buildings while providing new designs. The building is three stories high and each story provides a different aspect of the town hall as well as a different architectural design on the exterior. Although the facade has a different design on each floor, it does a great job of diversifying the exterior rather than being disjointed. Having variety in the design also makes it a lot more fun to build. Although there is value in repetition in terms of design in the case of the Grand Emporium, it does get tedious in the actual building process. The Town Hall adds a bit more variety to the building process. The windows are large and bring in a lot of light and I love that they included a balcony that minifigures can actually stand on.

Another different feature in this building is the elevator. While the Grand Emporium has the escalator and the Fire Brigade has stairs and sliding pole, the Town Hall adds an elevator to the mix. I really appreciate how LEGO tries to change things up.
