2 and a 1/2 up to 5 years old. I teach preschool and pre-kindergarten.

My 18 month old niece loves it but mainly drives it around. I would say the learning and building part would be great for ages 2.5-5.

We purchased these several months ago, my son is 1 1/2 now and just started really getting into them. Could depend on the child, and particular interests, but I would say at least 1 year +

Yes and no. The connectors are the same, but the wheels are wider on this set (10558) and are not made for Duplo track. The wider wheels don't work on switches, bridges, or level crossings (though they do work on straights and curves).

i have the same question! Are the two compatible? Also, will this work with the Thomas sets?
