i was hesitant to pay $20 for this toy but found it on sale right before christmas, boy if i had known how much my son would love this i would have had no problem paying full price, it is so so worth it. my son has spent hours with this. i am convinced lego is one of the best things ever invented. this is so much better than a hunk of plastic gadget that just takes up space in a toy box. we love the designs of the creatures in this set. the glow-in-the-dark teeth are a cool touch, my son likes to take his finished creations in the room and turn the lights off to see the teeth glow. its so neat to see him have the satisfaction of accomplishing building all this stuff. and at the same time honing his fine motor skills, and hand/eye co-ordination etc, in preparation for learning to write, all while he's engaged in fun playtime! i also really want to mention if you are hesitating because of the age recommendation, i think it really must depend on the child. i have held back on certain lego sets because they say 6+ or 7+ but my son only just turned five at christmas and had no frustration with this set. i will not be hesitating in the future. the make and create lego sets are the best!

My 5 and a half year old son has no trouble building the Lego fish by himself. He particularly love the anglerfish and its glow in the dark teeth. He also adores the shark and the squid. They are all beautiful and realistic, a good toy for kids.

You know how, when a kid gets something new, it's fun for a day or two? Well, with this Lego set that he received 3 weeks ago he still plays with it and has fun putting together the creatures. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was that they show 2-3 creatures on the box, but you can only make one at a time that are in the instruction book.

Great overall. My only complain was that the glow in the dark teeth broke very easily. Those pieces are different from the regular non-glow pieces.
