Excellent product. Colors, shapes, animals and endless building combinations for my kids to flex their creativity. Lego folks get an "A" in my books.

My toddler son absolutely loves playing with this set, and asked for it by name at playtime for MONTHS. He got it shortly after his second birthday, and still enjoys it today.

As you can see from the picture, this set is mostly animals and people to play with, rather than rectangular blocks. There are indeed some blocks - enough to build simple structures, and the tree tops separate from the trees, but otherwise there's just not much to build. For the same money you can get a much larger unspecialized duplo set.

That quibble aside, something about the animals really appeals to my son. He loves the animals, he loves sticking them onto other blocks, so he does get *some* value out of them being duplo's. One of the best things is he loves to do pretend play with them, which isn't true of many of his toys.

The animals are all pretty sturdy. A couple of them have hinged parts (e.g. the crocodiles jaw) but despite some rough play, we haven't had any problems with them.

Pro:
+ animals are appealing to a toddler!
+ set encourages pretend play
+ being able to stick the animals and figures onto duplo creations does indeed add something to the play
+ lots of fun!

Con:
- it would be nice if the set came with more building blocks. Fortunately they're duplo, so we just combined with our other sets!

My son doesn't care what the brand name is, he cares how much fun he has with them, and he has a blast! The toys are solid, good looking, and my son loves them, hence the five star rating.

Very good toy. Kept the kids busy for months!
I wish it came with more little people though, and I think any lego duplo product with enough pieces would have done the job as well.
